We decided to go to the woods at Oranjewoud today. There are always things on our wish list to see and this morning we ticked off two within 5 minutes. A red squirrel and a black woodpecker.

(1) Sigma 150-600mm f/1.5-6.3 telephoto lens which attaches to the Canon EOS 700D.
(2) Tokina AT-X M100 Pro D AF 100mm f/2.8 Macro Lens which attaches to the Canon EOS 700D for really close-up shots.
The Canon EOS with the Sigma lens we mainly use for photographing wildlife at a distance away. I posted some photos a while ago of some Avocets and a chick which I took at Keyhaven Marshes. A tripod is essential when using this setup to minimise camera-shake. We only take this gear out with us when we know we will be spending a few hours at a particular location, and hopefully near to where we park the car. The gear is too heavy to walk too far.
The Panasonic gives excellent quality results. The photos Sophia and I took of each other (posted on our Flickr site) were taken with it.
I also have an excellent quality camera on my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra mobile phone. I always have this with me, so if we come across anything we want to photograph then we are ready
All of the above camera equipment is quite old now, but they still give excellent results. So we won't be updating anything just yet
My son is a good photographer who sells regularly so he has the set up the tripods etc.
I walk with my dogs who have to be kept on lead because they are hunters.
So I have to operate a camera one handed while holding the dog and trying to stay upright on all sorts of terrein a bridge camera is the best for this, no lens changes , no fuss etc.

That is what we like about the Panasonic. It is a bridge camera with a fixed lens, so you can do everything one-handed.
I used the Canon SX620, before I got the latest mobile phone, as it is so light and portable. I still take that one out with me, especially if I intend to take a lot of photos. It saves clogging up my phone memory

....and they are light.
True, and with my joint pain a heavy camera just isnt an option, besides I know how much the wind can catch and cause shake even on a modest lens, if I had anything bigger the need for a tripod would mean I couldnt take these random shots as we walked. The whole idea of my photos isnt posed but just the things we see on our day to day walks.
