This is my first attempt at sharing some of my photos here, so I hope all goes well.
I originally tried to sign up to Imgur for uploading my photos, as suggested by Heather, but for some reason they are not allowing sign-ups from the UK.
I came across Flickr on my alternative company search and found that they allow 1,000 photos to be uploaded per customer on their free service plan.
So here goes……
Sophia took the photos of me with my horse “Atalanta.”
I love butterflies, so the name was chosen from the Red Admiral Butterfly - (scientific name Vanessa Atalanta). Quite appropriate I thought.
Photo #5 This is Sophia with her horse “Athena” (from the Greek Goddess of Wisdom). She is a very smart lady so that is definitely appropriate. (I think I will still be in her good books for saying that). Sophia with her horse Athena
Photo #6 This is my wedding day to Sophia - 8 April 2024.
We travelled up to the Lake District by car last weekend. This is where Sophia’s parents live so we stayed with them, got married there, stayed for the week then returned home.
This morning was awful weather but we spotted a fair few birds including the curlew and the godwits but as always I love it when I spot the spoonbills back from their winter homes..

A lovely photo. I haven't seen one here locally but, on checking, it's rare but not unknown.

My favourite photos to take in the New Forest are of the New Forest Ponies, reflections of the trees in the streams and misty mornings.
Below is just a small selection.....
Beautiful photos, as well as the previous ones. I somehow missed them yesterday but I'm glad I have now seen them. I could easily fall in with living there.

Thank you Jen.
We feel so lucky to be able to live here, and we never take the environment for granted.
Each day we go out we see something different, from the changing seasons to the changing light conditions and the movement of the various wildlife

I know I posted this sometime in the past but when I saw your pic of a spoonbill it reminded my how much I enjoy watching them feed. Also taken in my back yard.

They are turtles but were sold as terrapins during the Ninja Turtle rage because of the red Stripe on their cheeks poor things grow quite large which is why people dump them into rivers and ponds.

I had three when in my 20's. They grew to side plate size. The vet wanted them, and promised to build a large tank for them as a display in his practice. It was the best option for them, and it was a lovely home he built for them.

My son turned up once that someone's house they kept exotics and in their bathroom they had a four foot long caiman crocodile! They had bought it when it was about six inches long at a pet shop and were told that it was a mini non-growing specimen this is a perfect example of why exotics should never be sold by pet shops and only to experienced owners with cities agreements.
We decided to go to the woods at Oranjewoud today. There are always things on our wish list to see and this morning we ticked off two within 5 minutes. A red squirrel and a black woodpecker.
