We have now got a large tub for our new banana tree.
We have now got a smaller tub for our banana tree.
That, apparently, is best for them.
Cherry, do you know what variety your tree is? The idea of a small tun caught my attention because some of my trees get to be about 15 feet tall and the smaller varieties are about 6 feet tall.

It's a Muso Bajsoo
Grows up to 10-15 ft. tall (300-450 cm) and 6-8 ft. wide (180-240 cm). Performs best in full sun in humus-rich, well-drained soils.

If I am not mistaking it's also known as the Ice Cream Banana, a very delicious smaller banana and much more hardy than most of the other types.
Surely nobody puts 'delicious' and 'banana' in the same sentence?
Cherry, I take it your not a fan of bananas?
I am an addict. I have one every day The supermarket was out yesterday. People were complaining at the tills. People love their bananas. I got some from a shop nearby.

Now it has got a little cooler I can breath a little and not have to rush around the garden all day watering my planters. Maybe the lawn will come back with a vengence though
I'm still getting a few tomatoes and it's way after the season. I am going to see how long they can go.
It's usually said here that they go well into autumn until the cold gets them although mine came so early last year that they had finished before the end of summer. In fact mine had almost finished before others had even ripened but that was due, I think, to theirs being outside whereas mine are in the greenhouse. I will be interested to see how mine go this year as I am growing several plants of current tomatoes. These are smaller than grapes but come in abundance. They are apparently more related to wild tomatoes than the bigger ones.
I presume that, in your warmer weather, as long as they keep flowering they will keep coming?

Jen you are right, as long as they keep flowering. It's best her in the late fall and throughout the winter into spring. Once the hot weather of summer gets going they tend to wither up and stop producing.
One of our azaleas seems to have died... at least so far this time it isn't half of them that died.. It happened after a lot of rain, so not really anything I can do about that. Keeping a close eye on the rest.. hoping they do not meet the same fate.
I cleared out some more of my hydroponics pots this morning. There is only a basil plant now in one of the tubs. Most of the other plants were past their best but, a few weeks ago, I planted a spearmint cutting in a pot. It has thrived (as mint usually does) and grown good roots. I have now transplanted it to a small planter, out in the garden. It's good to know that cuttings can be propagated through hydroponic systems. It's and idea I make well make use of.
My hydroponics are at the end of their season. With it being so hot they aren't producing much at all. It looks like it might be time to take them down, clean everything up and put them away until October.

I may have mentioned it earlier when I cleaned out my tank in the house but that's what I am planning too. Apart from my basil, which I really need to transplant to free up the tank for cleaning, there are only the two tomato plants but they are really growing in a half way situation in larger pots in an irrigation tray. In fact I will sort the basil today. Thanks for the, unintended, prompt

We have a small rhododendron in a pot, just waiting to be transplanted, but it looks as if it will die all of a sudden.
I am fond of rhoddies, and azaleas, I think they are cousins, so that is rather sad.

My next job after turning off my computer yesterday was to go out and transplant my basil plant. That done, now all I have to do is the lovely job of cleaning both tanks, net pots and airlines
