I shall have to look again at hydroponics. The last I looked it seemed complicated but there may be more options now. Your tomatoes are growing well. Hopefully later in the year for me lol

I love nature. I love plants, trees, flowers. I also love the rainforests and woodlands across the planet. Nature is beautiful and wonderful: you cannot get bored when out in it.
When I was a kid, I'd go hiking through the woods in Sweden with my brother, sister and grandfather. Those memories are deeply special and stick with me even today. We got lost once and had to hike to the nearest road to catch the bus back to my nan's house.
Anyhow, woodland is wonderful and full of enchantment. Looking after plants and flowers is something I also enjoy. Nature is so, so important to others, too. I'd much rather be out in the countryside than in a busy city.

It's really easy. Just keep the water level up, aerate and add nutrients every week of so.
So far, our new redbud is doing well. The leaves are sprouting really fast now. They are so pretty... a magenta color to start. Then they will change to many shades of reds, purples, pinks, and greens before it transitions to just green with white-ish edges. I'm so excited! lol
My peas have nicely poked their heads above the soil. I did notice when I was out walking yesterday that there seems to be a few fields of peas locally. The farmers sometimes grow different fields of things these days so I won't be certain until they get a bit bigger. It's strange when I think that here in Lincolnshire we have even had fields of Opium Poppies :/
This is the most incredible drought tolerant plants, they grow like weeds.
I was thinking - It looks like Lavender then I saw the photo name - It is lol. They smell lovely. I grew some once but it died and there are other herbs I find more useful. I think it maybe prefers different soil than I have, which has a lot of clay.

I have a lot of clay, too. I try to mix in a small amount of other types of soil with it when adding new plants, but I add extra soil if the plants are known to not do as well in clay. Some plants sure are fickle!

Yes, I also mix my old compost back into the soil. Over the years things have improved. I did clear out the fruit cage over winter pruning back the redcurrents hard. I found my blueberry plant was still alive. I originally planted it raised in a planter with more acidic compost as my soil is alkaline. It looks a bit straggly but I think that is more to being dominated by the redcurrents which thrive. It is looking happier now.
I once read somewhere that there are no plants which are difficult to grow, it is just that they have not got the right environment. I can believe this as in a renowned book I have on carniverous plants, and also online, I read that Venus Flytraps are difficult but mine, which sit in our front window all year earning their keep, have happily been there for perhaps 20 years, just with occasional re-pots and tidy up. I have tried planting offsets and little plants I have grown from the seeds produced outside and in the greenhouse but they don't do well and eventually die. Other carniverous plants I have had though which are supposed to be easier to grow have not lasted.
I seem to kill all indoor plants that are supposedly easy to care for..... I much prefer the outdoor ones lol they seem to live better on average. I especially like the ones that enjoy all soils and are tolerant to moisture and drought.. hehe

My dad's garden is amazing! He has a pear tree, a cherry tree, herbs, vegetables... the list goes on. My dad works very hard to maintain his garden: and it is well worth it. Plus, it rained yesterday AND today, so the plants and flowers are naturally watered.
I more often halve them then heat them up well flavoured with mixed herbs then served with whatever else I am having.
I prefer to eat veggies in raw form if I can, same with fish (sashimi) or meat ( beef capacchio).
I eat vegetables raw quite often too! When cooking they are always very al dente which is how I like pasta too so hardly cooked. It's mostly when I am out when I eat any mashed foods like potato as the way I cook they are far too solid. I mostly have fish and meat fully cooked although with steaks fairly rare but I seldom have them at home. Like with the home made soup I intend to have today I usually cook my vegetables in a herby spicy stock in the microwave, adding each at the right time such that they are cooked just right at the finish. I have a very thin gravy coloured with dark soy sauce rather than the more traditional English thicker although some ingredients such as Okra do thicken it up a little on the occasion I use them. That way most of the goodness of the vegetables is still there. I almost never follow recipes and have learned over time but no two meals are ever identical as the ingredients and amounts always differ.
