That would be scary. I feel like it's more about size of objects or detecting movement even, so hair just lying on the floor (although attached ;p) would probably not register as anything but a mess. How many animal tails get sucked up in there then?? If they are sleeping and not running away from it..
From dogs I remember I would pity the cleaner as dogs often seem to hate them. I cannot imagine cats liking them either. I do wonder about those that mow lawns though. Probably most people just carry on regardless but I sometimes lose count of the number of times I move ladybirds as I am mowing the lawn. Lawn mowing robots wouldn't. I presume most sunbathers would soon get out of the way with the robot about but a dose in the sun after a glass of wine on a summer's day could be an invite into A&E.
