I agree with all of that, except for the queueing part. The crowds at Black Friday sales and shopping for the latest hot toy are truly the worst of the worst and not the norm. However, based on my not-so-recent experience with crowds in other countries, I would rather be in a crowd full of Brits than Americans. Germans are the worst.

It was usually on the news for the bigger stores and people used to camp out in the queue for a few days before so that they could get their bargain before anyone else did. I cannot imagine many people doing that now during, even with global warming, the cold winter conditions.
