Here in Britain Milton Keynes has excellent roads: the roads/road signs/traffic lights all work perfectly and it is a highly organized system.
I haven't been to MK for a while - a few years - but will be going there in the next few weeks.
And I went to Milton Keynes with my sister yesterday!
We did a load of shopping and ate out for lunch there. I bought myself six pairs of earrings: they are gorgeous. I also bought myself three pairs of trousers. I am very happy with my purchases! Oh: I also have a new smart phone! It's all good.
Ive only been there once, very briefly in 1982 OH knew someone who lived there in a street that looked like it had escaped from the lego factory. It had coloured houses and a weird road layout with loads of roundabouts !
Over here the current joke is to use our roads to practice putting. Every road has 18 holes.
Yesterday I travelled along the old part of the dualled A46 between Newark and Leicester. I was glad I had crusie control as there was one spot of maybe 5 miles in which the speed limit was 40mph where they are repairing the road. Without the control it would be hard to keep to that as there were no works going on and the road was clear. There were speed cameras all along in several places. They reduce the speed for safety but, as the traffic starts to bunch up, I find it more dangerous as I spend more time looking at the dash to avoid getting flashed rather than concentrating on what is a tricky situation.
I now have adaptive cruise control for the first time. It's great.

I use it all the time.
I find it particularly good when I am tired after a long day at work, and I have 70 miles to get back home. I just dial in 60mph, and sit behind a lorry. Their max is 55mph, and I wander home on the inside lane, with no worries of judging when to overtake, or when to pull in. It's also really economical at that speed.

I have never been there. Milton Keynes is one of the 'New Towns' though so has no old road networks to contend with. I would expect it to be better in that respect.

it depends on how much you enjoy roundabouts.
Did someone say "roundabouts"?
Eugene Henard
DeAragao reported on the history of roundabouts. It is thought that one-way circular intersections were invented by a French architect, Eugene Henard, in 1877. (5) During the same period, the American architect William Eno was also proposing his plan for small circles to alleviate traffic congestion in New York City.

You learn something new every day!
The guy discovered something obvious: yet also genius. A guy I now know to have invented modern traffic control.

My supervisor and I was discussing bath taking the other night. I prefer to take baths cuz I like the soak to ease my aches. However, getting in and out of the tub anymore has become a challenge. She said it's too bad they can't come up with a chair you can sit on in the tub that can lower you into the water and bring you back up when you're done. I thought man what an idea!
Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what.

My mum had one. Nice but they get really scuzzy where they sit in the tub so you have to have someone strong enough to lift the whole thing out regularly and clean the tub out.

Yeah, she said she has these bars that hook on the sides of the tub and you screw them down but IDK about that.

You can get electric bath seats now. They are not rare. All the care homes have them.
We've never heard of them here. I just looked at Amazon. $400!!

Even though I'm not afraid of heights, and there appears to be enough room to maneuver, I could never do that. That portion of the rock looks like it could slide off the side of the mountain.

The next is that the slab looks like it is about to slide off the face.
Next I know I don't have the head for heights.
After that I remember that in similar but less extreme situations in the past I have always had the feeling of being pushed away from the face into the abyss.
My final thought is that I would put a doll on a tiny ledge by a proper path and take a photo of it

Got an email from the Social Security Administration. They're changing our website now so had to go into the old account and create a new one that is now at Login.gov for those of us in the US. We just had to change websites for the city I'm in for our water bills. It's such a pain!

That sort of thing really makes me feel for the people who cannot cope. Our water and government sites seem stable enough, although there are many govenment addresses for the different departments, but changing electricity supplier is a pain.

The nursing staff and office people must get paid handsomely to throw out an expensive glasslock microwave container. This was in the trash (not a thing wrong with it) and it's not the first time I've found them in the trash. I'm gonna start digging them out and if they're ok they're coming home with me and getting cleaned up and I'll use the damn things. LOL!
