Notebooks. I am always looking for scrap paper to jot something down.
That is exactly what I use. I cut up a4 size paper into 4 pieces and put it on a bulldog clip on my notice board. Particularly good is junk mail. As often the rubbish is just on the one side.
I made this myself from a slice of tree. I just varnished it, put a picture of Sugar as a puppy on it, and our flower, a bluebell. I also drilled a hole in the top for the pen. I kept the bark for a rugged look.

Yesterday I bought the mid week grocery top up. With wanting to shop around for groceries, to keep with lower prices, yesterday the shop was getting toward the size of the shop I did on Sunday. I am thinking that I maybe need to write down a list with the items I most buy and their prices in each of the main three supermarkets I go to though as it's taking a bit of remembering the prices in each. These days the prices seem a little more stable but I suppose the election will result in more chaos though

I was tempted yesterday when I got an email from the site where I buy my aeroplanes for the flight simulator. They were having a 4th July sale. I bought another trainer, a piston engine powered plane which was used by many countries during and after WWII. Actually my first since the one I bought on Christmas Eve - time flies
Later I went on Youtube to look for videos on how to fly it. It never ceases to amaze me how you can find videos on virtually everything. I found a number of them, all giving varying info on flying the real thing
It is years since I tried a flight simulator as you describe. I was useless. Uterly hopeless.
Killing the enemy? I rarely took off without killing myself. When I did, I would then crash on landing. I don't think I ever got as far as even spotting an enemy.

It's like anything else. Things to learn and practice. Like driving a car in three dimensions. I am not so good really but that's mainly because I don't practice regularly. For reference, I have always liked helicopters and first tried to fly one in a flight simulator when the kids were little. They are difficult to fly, as I found out. I was really pleased with myself the other day when I took off from RAF Cranwell, landed at RAF Waddington, Took off again and landed at RAF Scampton then took off and finally landed back at RAF Cranwell. That was the first time in lots of years when I have managed to land three times without crashing. I think I have finally got it lol. Now I only have to learn how to hit the spot I want to (an airfield is not too hard but the landing pad is ),
I am better with aeroplanes though.
As for spotting an enemy - the originator of the flight sim I use created a mission which you can download (for free) and play which he created when that 'Chinese balloon' was in the news - Shoot down the Chinese ballon using the F14 which is one of the aeroplanes in the sim. I did download it but have never tried it. Just watching the video, it looks complicated enough. I do love aeroplanes though and drop into dreamland while I am flying.

I'd love doing this.
Air flight simulators are so cool. I'll have a go one-day.
Today was the weekly grocery shopping, but I may pop in again on Thursday if anything is getting a bit low - kiddos are home next weekend, so the Sunday shopping gets moved in order to have more time to goof around together.
And I have pearl earrings on the way! The hooks failed on the last set, and if I don't feel like wearing rings on the hottest days of summer, I'll still want earrings. I may just collect birthstone earrings for all in my family so that I have variety. First up, June for me!
A lap desk. Originally I was just thinking about a comfortable way to sit with my laptop, but then I thought about writing as well. I found a cute design with daisies on a pink background!

I ordered a new seal for the sliding-door-AC setup. I realised a couple years late that I can use a second one to deal with the gaps - it opens like a minivan sliding side door, but one seal on either side should cover both the AC hose going out and the other side too. (I've been using cardboard until now, silly me. And "the handyman's secret weapon: duct tape." See The Red Green Show, any episode! Does duct tape overuse prove I'm Canadian? )
Up next to order: a new string of lights and clips for a photo display. My mum gave me one she wasn't using, and it's now full with family photos. A second one could have family pets from years past! I may keep going after that and add photos of friends on a third string. I don't use the lights often since the strings look great with photos alone, but just in case I want to illuminate, I made sure there were lights again...

My husband loves that show and we actually went to see him in New Hampshire quite awhile ago. It's really off the wall but I actually got in to watching it.
