Great question Cherry, I know my in-laws well enough but the problem is they get what they want and never wait to be gifted anything. My MIL likes exotic jewelries and my FIL likes clothes with certain textures.
About the fiancee, I gave her a Kate Spade handbag for christmas and I see that she carries it all the time from her FB page so I will get her a backpack this time:
The older we get, the harder it is for people to find us stuff.
I love the back pack, when she gets bored with it.............
At that price the wine should be excellent.
Haha Cherry, if we ever meet in person, I will keep that in mind.
About the wine, it's an excellent wine. We always have at least 5 bottles in our house, they are Brian's favorite. One of our friends' family own the winery: daouvineyards.com/
We serve them at our dinner party and people love them.
This family also owns an olive oil manufacturing plant in Lebanon, They claim their olive oil come from 2000 year old trees

The most expensive wine I ever tried was when I was given two bottles by a patient. She had them a while, and had been a gift, but she didn't drink.
Anyway we took one to a friends house for dinner. They never opened it, so we never tried it. We opened the other the following night and it was lovely, so I looked it up, and it cost £98.
I phoned our friends telling them to cherish it due to the price lol. She replied "My husband was a little tipsy when you left, and polished off the whole bottle. He doesn't remember if it was any good."

I once had a coworker who used to be a chef. He gets clippings and/or seeds from some university in California and grows a few vines, from which he makes his own. It's a hobby. His father is into wines as well and gifted my team mate an expensive bottle from a case he bought while on vacation. When my coworker told his father that he made sangria out of it, his father hit the roof!
I bought an art book and a few maps at a car boot sale. There were lots of plants but I think I can find enough of my own
That reminds me. One of our local cafes has their toilet decorated in vinyl wallpaper. The pattern is of a local ordnance survey map. I really do love it.
I bought a few PC games from BigFish today, since there was a sale. I've been enjoying some mobile games lately on my tablet, but I really prefer having an entire game without ads and in-game purchase options...
I also snagged two used CDs later, after I couldn't find the first in a digital music store. (I didn't try multiple options for digital purchase - so far, I just have one favourite site.)
Other recent purchases: a second folding mattress so that I can double the thickness of my bed and still have lots of spare space in the room during the day; storage crates for the closet, so I can get to some sorting and organising in the next weekend or two; and I've preordered the latest Dune movie even though there isn't a release date yet!
I bought a new pH meter for my hot tub tyhat will double for my hydroponics.
I use test strips for my hydroponics. I found some medical ones online which have a suitable expanded narror range and were fairly cheap. Urine / saliva although I have resisted the temptation to use them for their original purpose lol

I've always used test strips in the past but since I got one for mt hot tub I figured I would give it a try.
I bought bird food this morning,,, OMG the price of seeds and nuts has shot up. I know I always order enough for a few months but still the price rises have no bearing to inflation..
I got my weekly groceries yesterday too. As the mid week amount was larger than normal I was a bit busier.
On my way I called in at the Range to get some particular small artists brushes. I was a little shocked at how much they cost but it was a good brand and what I need. Cheap brushes can be Ok at times but there are times when really good ones are more useable, and they tend to last longer. It was only after I got home and checked around a bit that I found out that three of the brushes were genuine sable, not the synthetic ones in the range I was buying. They are more expensive. The only difference I found was a variation in the multi digit code number on the brush as otherwise they two types looked identical. The Range here is not best known for havind tidy displays and all the brush types were mixed and not on a dedicated stand. I determined the brush difference when I got home as I compared the prices with my usual discount online supplier. The Range actually worked out cheaper to the extent that I was getting a "sable" upgrade for the three brushes free. Buying art supplies there though tends to be a bit 'pot luck' as to what they have in.
