My friend asked for money last night: unfortunately I am unable to do so. BUT if she'd not bought those clothes she wouldn't have had to have asked me for money. She knew she needed that money to help her meet her boyfriend. She just assumed I'd give her money. Plus, I am not a free bank account.

I just bought the usual Sunday grocery shop this morning. It has been a wet morning so I wasn't enthusiastic about anything else anyway..
I do have a "to order" board but I am wondering about transferring it to a computer based list. I'm not sure it is a good idea as it may get out of hand but the only way I will find out is by trying it.

I have a text file named "Grocery List" on my desktop which I update whenever I've used the last of something, I'm running out of something, or I need something for making something special. I organize it based on the grocery store's layout. If I need to go to multiple stores, I make note. I print it out before I leave. When I update it again, I delete everything out of the text file and start over.
For the newbies, and those who have forgotten... I HATE SHOPPING! So, I wanna get in and outta there as fast as I can. Sometimes, I happen to go when it's not too crowded, and I'll take the time to "smell the roses." If I happen to find something interesting, like a fruit I never tried before, I'll deviate from the list.

I made a message list board out of a wooden slice. It has bluebells and sugar, my last dog, decorating it. I fitted a bull dog clip to it, and scrap paper goes in the clip. There I write my shopping list.

Haha, it is wrong that men say "Men work. Women shop."
A former cube-mate, whose wife didn't work outside the home, used to say, "We do everything 50/50. She cooks, I clean the kitchen. She does the laundry, I do the vacuuming. I make the money, she spends it."

The list I am thinking about is more what I order online and things stack up until either something becomes important or I can raise a reasonable order which does not incur shipping charges. I could see that a lot of less than important things that I often forget about may get on a list if I have it on computer though so I would end up buying more.
I did create a list for ordinary grocery shopping which I could print out back when the kids were small. As we usually bought pretty much the same every week it was a standard list which could just be gone over with things being crossed out rather having to remember to add and the sporadic occasional buys added as required. I thought that would reduce the time needed to compile the weekly list but the idea never really took off with the family.
Back in 1986 I had just bought our first ever computer, a Commodore 64, and the ex had started his first business. I spent ages designing a simple stock control spreadsheet for him to use in his business. He never even opened it once. He ran that business for two years before realising he was barely paying for the expense of the van he needed to run it.

I bought the youngest a new blanket recently - he now has a queen size fleece that is very good for cuddling! (Queen size so that it's square and there's no searching for the short or long side...)
I've ordered new shoelaces in a bright blue, for my walking/hiking shoes.
I'm going to measure to see what length of nickel-free necklace chain I'll order next (or get from a local jeweler, if that's the best option) - feeling itchy from the one I've been wearing recently! I already watch out for nickel-free in earrings, so maybe it's the same for chains. Until recently, I'd been wearing something more expensive, and maybe that was better quality metal? When the clasp breaks, apparently I can't just grab whatever's hanging around...
Also thinking of buying a zip hoodie. I have one I like for its bright red colour, it's just made a bit small for sizing compared to other sweaters in the same size.
