Leave it to you, my co-founder! You're breathing some sweet air back into our thread. Based on that info it's obvious that this horrible drug should be illegal!
I think we need some type of logo for our party, and maybe some sponsors to support our cause ;-)
The future is green!
This is excellent debate material.
Even my folks indulged in college, and thereafter.
And yes of course, so do/did I.
I probably am more in support of de-criminalization, than legalization.
Since no accurate science exist for testing impaired drivers, we may be seeing more road accidents.
MJ, in chronic use, is not harmless.
Many studies show diminished memory recall from heavy users.
It just can't be good for the lungs over an extended time.
We just need to stop incarcerating people for simple possession.
Texas (where else) gave people life sentences for possession and use I heard like back in the 60's.
In the end, the MJ controversy may allow us to review how various countries actually create criminals through overly harsh legislation, that has done far more harm than good.
Try hitting yourself on the head with a bottle. If you do it just right, you still get that spaced out feeling, but you don't have to worry about the munchies.....

Yes, Jen and I are definitely for decriminalizing it.
I'm not in support of heavy recreational use. Nothing should ever be used excessively. I think most of the positive benefits from it are seen when you use smaller amounts, such as feeling mellow but not being "stoned". But.. to each their own.
You do not have to smoke it, so your lungs do not have to be affected ;-) I'm not sure why so many people smoke it, really, I personally cannot stand smoking anything. I dislike the feeling of smoke in my lungs!
Of course, we'd be able to learn much more about it if we at least made it medically legal, so I am looking forward to more research being done/possible.

Next year the National Football League is going to discuss decriminalization for their players. Maybe they've come to the conclusion that weed may be a little safer than steroids.

Heather, Kacey liked the country-folk singer, John Prine since she was little. I just you-tubed her singing "My idea of Heaven is to burn one with John Prine". The cool thing is that John was sitting next to her on the stage, smiling.

Johns Hopkins Medical Center has been conducting an interesting study involving people that want to quit smoking. The doctors are giving them small doses of either LSD or mescaline. After 6 months 80% of the patients reported that they no longer smoke. The sample size wasn't large, but it seems to work. I couldn't make this story up. I've only done one hallucinogen (mescaline), and I had a wonderful trip so who knows?

The only bad trip that I've ever had was when I was in college and smoked a joint that was obviously cut with something; everything seemed to be happening in stop action for awhile. I slept it off and have been tokin' ever since.

As a teenager I was keen on acid, so this comes as a surprise.
I ask myself….if I had a daughter coming of legal age would I want her to use it? I think not. Second, I don’t know the long term effects (brain chemistry and lung issues) of habitual use so I’m wary.
I consume alcohol on occasion. But my motivation isn’t to get high or drunk. Can the same be said of pot users?
I sound awfully militant about this subject and I really am not. I bet for most users it is absolutely harmless. But I worry about the very young, teens and such. I also worry about the “slippery slope” for other drug legalization.
I’m not a prude I’m just of the “wait and see” how legalization turns out mind.
I don’t know enough about the medicinal value to have an opinion. Do I sound like an old lady or what???
One thing is certain. MJ has been accurately identified as a "gateway" drug, leading to harder products.
It is hard to see many benefits considering that.
I supported de-criminalization, rather than legalization.

Grace Potter has a song "Oh Mary" and I actually met her after a concert a few years ago. I'm getting into old movies and last night I watched M*A*S*H; in a couple scenes that soldiers were doing weed.
Michelle, you were kidding about MJ being a gateway drug, weren't you? That is not the case.

I would support "legalising the whole lot" and providing treatment centers for those that want to get off the hard stuff. There was a Baltimore Mayor years ago that said that the idea should be discussed and was attacked unmercifully for even suggesting it.
