It's a common occurrance these days but I have to show you a parcel I got a week or so ago. I had ordered some paints and the original delivery, from a well known company here, was deficient in one of the colours. I raised the issue and they were very good in sending, next day delivery, but the box that came containg the item :-

I have noticed the same thing lately from Amazon, small item, big box. What a waste...

I know that it's sensible to standardise on a few sizes of boxes rather than stocking lots. From the manufacturing point of view it is almost as expensive to make a small box as a big one. Add to that the fact that item delivery is often charged by weight, up to a certain parcel size and that a small parcel is more likely to be lost.

Economics may pointing to the fact that it is better to use a large box?

I recycle mostly everything.

I want to protect and save our planet.

I have received so much lately with overkill when it comes to bubblewrap. Some of the items couldn't have been damaged even if you hit it with a sledge hammer.
