I hope i'm not breaking any rules since Marijuana in the US is started to become legal in majority of states as well as the federal government relaxing restrictions, I have to ask:
Are there any marijuana smokers on this forum?
I visit Minnesota a lot and my youngest son and I have bonding-sessions over weed (we chat and play games, watch tv or make dinner) about once a week. Florida has too many restrictions but I do have a medical card (not that that matters).

I actually tried it about 15 years ago but did not like it. My son rolled up his eyes when I told him, he said " Mom, I thought you were a proper woman" haha...
I remember it being around a bit in my teens but was never inclined to buy any so it was rare. I haven't seen any for years and have no inclination at all.
Doing care work and with people over long term i have seen all i need to, another drug that starts issues and major health issue,s , how it effects people i only know with in those who have been caught up in it ,
It like most other drugs people are putting thier lives on the line and are paying with thier lives to the point of death sad really, maybe for some its a way out of life and not a care because of things that have and are going on in thier life, i,v seen too much , so for myself is a no go,

Why was this thread started? I can't use marijuana: if I were caught I'd be evicted. I can't risk losing my home. I'd also end up with a criminal record, which would block any applications for future council properties. Plus, drugs are expensive. How am I supposed to afford a drug habit? I can't even afford to have an alcohol or cigarette problem. I simply would have no money left to pay my bills.
I've seen it used in well controlled medical situations when normal pain killing drugs really don't help and marijuana makes life bearable for what time people have left. I wouldn't recommend it as a plaything but it has a place in medicinal use

It isn't logical to take up drugs.
Why is any thread started? To have a conversation and may be update people's perception on a drug that is less dangerous than... alcohol.

Marijuana is a much weaker pain relief drug than morphine.
When in medical use it is mainly used for inflammation, controls vomiting in people undergoing chemo, ALS, people with AIDS, Crohn's disease, sleeping disorders.

Maybe not directly but I can imagine hundreds, or even thousands, have died due to accidents while driving under the influence with the resulting lack of proper perception of their situation.

Spoken like someone who doesn't smoke but listens and trusts anti-marijuana propaganda
There's no data supporting your imagination.
Actually... the state of Alabama, which is terribly behind in their laws, witnessed 989 deaths on the highway in 2022; Colorado (a state with legal marijuana for 20+ years) was 764 in the same year.
Based on your imagination, it should be reversed.

According to Dutch figures driving after using cannabis increases your chance of being involved in an RTC by 3 compared with a non using driver however use of alcohol is twice as risky as the use of cannabis when driving ..
The fact is anything that impares your response when driving is a bad idea.
