I like short bobs, but I tend to always have mine shoulder length.
Mine is also shoulder length these days, since my hairdresser retired. It's a bit fine too so it knots easily but I'm getting used to handling it. The only other time I had it as long was really when I was in my teens.

I'm grateful for rain in the forecast - it would help to wash away the pollen that bothers me. In the meantime, I changed what time of day to go for a walk and/or open windows in the house. Gotta work with nature!
I have always found pollen allergy interesting. It seems so severe that you wonder how it survived as an ailment considering how recently we discovered anti histamines.

I wonder about a lot of allergies as I don't remember it being quite as prominent when I was at school. There were people with them as things like hay fever were not uncommon but I don't remember anyone dying from traces of things in food.
That when I phoned the Dutch pension service about the letter they sent about OH's UK pension they said it had been a mistake and not to worry they were arranging it all digitally so I dont have to do a thing ..

My younger son and my daughter are lactose intolorant with my son it was bad he got blisters so bad he looked as if we had stubbed out cigarettes on his skin and his stool was like water, he threw up like the kid in the exorcist until we changed to soya milk, with my daughter it was more subtle.
Of course they asked if any of us has allergies and we said no but then mum reminded me about quiche at school.. I have a terrible fear of vomiting and sometimes at school we would be served quiche. I hated it because it made me feel quesy and by the time I got home I would be vomiting and panicking, with hair that hung to my waist it was not pretty or nice for mum and Id be off school the next day with an upset tummy.
At the time no one ever thought about lactose allergies but its obvious not thats what it was.
Since I turned 40 Ive had to avoid full fat milk again and drink lactose free semi skimmed and its quiche or a cream suace dinner or a yogurt / ice cream/ cream dessert but never two dairy food courses together.

Yes, none of my friends had inhalers. When my kids went to school, they were virtually trendy to have, they were so common.
I wonder about exhaust fumes sensitizing lungs, so pollen, and the likes become a problem. That would explain why pollen allergies have not died out......

I am lactose reluctant. I have minimal milk in my coffee, and I have a physical allergy to cooked milk, like custard or rice. It makes me vomit.

I am allergic to wheat: I can't touch the stuff without becoming sick to my stomach. This means no muesli/All Bran/brown bread/brown flour/other roughage I'm advised to eat. Fibre makes my body become sick. In fact, I am better when I DON'T eat fibre.

You sound just like my best friend. Everything needs to be gluten free.

It must be a real nightmare as, from what I understand, fibre is essential in some form.
I do tend to wonder sometimes as I don't have allergy issues with any food, as far as I am aware, but had a childhood in which I ate food in all states and was ill with stomach pains fairly often but, unless the cause was certain, I just carried on as normal.
One thing I have wondered for some time is how other people think. When I was fairly young I used to read books about the war (WWII) and the Russian Gulags and read about the food prisoners used to have to eat. I wondered a lot whether I could actually survive in such situations and I think that did influence what I considered edible. Obviously I was not that aware of bacteria and decay to the extent which I am now.

I well remember the discussions/descriptions on food in 'A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich'. A really intensive book.
I am grateful that the rain held off so that I could walk to my art meeting. It's good to get some fresh air and exercise as well as doing some artwork.
