This summer weather has prompted me to break out the summer dresses and short skirts. It's when I wish I didn't burn though. I need to be careful with the sun.

It's great isn't it?
I wore this today. If you look closely you can see the three cut outs at the front.

In another thread I showed the type of gear I wear for horse riding, which are specific riding breeches and matching top. They are stretchy and comfortable, making them ideal for the purpose.
You may recall in the photography thread I posted some pics of me and Sophia with our horses in the Forest, whilst we were wearing leggings, crop tops, blouses and cardigans (not all at once obviously, but on separate days ). Those sessions were just for fun actually. We don't ride long distances dressed like that
For casual wear I tend to go for leggings or jeggings, depending on my mood and occasion. The leggings are thinner and slightly lighter weight, but the jeggings resemble skinny jeans so they give a different look. The rest of my wardrobe consists of a variety of skirts, dresses, blouses, t-shirts, heels, trainers, ballet flats, sandals, etc., etc. Most of the time I go bare-legged around the house and for mundane tasks such as shopping. Other times, and nights out with friends I wear thigh-high stockings (no suspender belt) or tights (pantyhose for our US members). You really don't want to see inside my wardrobe. It looks like a fashion nightmare
Fortunately, we have a body shape that carries them off. We work hard to keep ourselves in trim though, walking daily in the Forest over all sorts of terrain, including some quite steep hills. We don't do jogging though as that gives more stress on the knee joints. I am 29 years old and Sophia is one year older, so we are trying to keep ourselves fit and healthy for as long as we can.
We don't tend to shop for clothes online any more. It is so disappointing when they arrive and they don't fit properly, even ordering the same size from different sellers. We prefer to go into a store and look at the clothes and try them on.

Leggings are my preferred choice for most of the time, I practically live in them.
I wear dresses for more formal occasions and eating out with friends. It really depends where we are going though, and I tend to dress up/down for the particular establishment

Mostly it's leggings for me when I am out and about. They tend to be more practical. Around home it's often skirts, with thick tights in the winter. In the summer my skirts get shorter and I dispense with the tights. If I am doing work around the garden or something which requires a lot of kneeling around the house I do change into jeans of similar though. Dresses, I mostly wear when I am going out although I do sometimes wear them over leggings more informally.
Leggings are not for me. Im not a string bean and Ive seen how other full women look in them
Most days Im in jeans they suit my lifestyle and my preference for cotton clothes. I do like skirts of dresses and do wear them but we live in a windy country and so modesty shorts are a pre. Most times its long trousers or jeans in winter and capri trousers in summer.
A question on clothes shop ettiquette.. You see a person looking for a garment on one of those round twist racks, you want to browse. Do you, wait for them to finish their search ? Do you go with the flow they have started or do you decided to take charge and turn the rack to where you want to be regardless?

If they are there first I would wait until they have finished browsing

I would either join in or wait.
My mother taught me politeness to strangers far too well.
Well thank-you ladies. I was also taught to wait my turn but yesterday while I was looking for a tshirt for OH a woman just grabbed the rail and started turning it her way ..It must have been my tiredness or the pain but for once I decided I wasnt having it and pulled back my way,,,all that hard work must be building muscles because the rack whizzed back so fast I think she got friction burns!

Good for you Cassie
There's some ignorant and impolite people about who just don't care

You don't think that punching her on the nose would have used up less energy?

And they looked shocked when you do. They don’t expect it. I would have done the same thing.

Well done!
The sales seem to get it to an extreme. It really amazes me how many just go into things as if no one else exists. They barge their way through with a growing pile of clothes draped over their arm or in a basket and add to their pile as they go. I wonder how many of the clothes eventually get worn or just navigate to the bottom of the drawer after the 'look what bargains I got at the sales' chats over coffee.

I would join in or wait, or even look in another area for a minute or two as I find people get stressed by someone else hovering around waiting.
