I've watched 4 of videos [Barbie Dreams, Chun-Li, Ganja Burn and MEGATRON]. Nicki Minaj's videos have well over 600 million views combined [including those I've watched]. I think Nicki has honed her craft well. Megatron is about sex and drinking to be blunt, but it isn't offensive. However, it is not my cup of tea [or glass of vodka & coke!]. I do think she is talented and very good looking.
As for her feud with Mariah Carey: they both have colossal egos. So it is no suprise they clashed. Still, I hope they learn to get along: even with their differences.
Your views on Nicki's music and looks?

Music today is not as good as it was years ago. There are a lot of females writhing in bikinis and singing about sex in these modern music videos.
Not really my thing, although Nicki Minaj is attractive and does work hard. Even though she isn't the best ever, she does inspire by not being anorexic and showing that you can be big AND beautiful.
To be polite, not the best artist ever: Nicki will never have the critical acclaim of Mariah Carey.
That seems mean but it's true.
To be honest if people like her then so be it. My neighbours listen to the most awful German beer festival folk music its dreadful but they like it.. When I played some Bob Marley during an outside party they closed their doors and windows..
But that voice is typical of a female voice of this time look at any of the big talent shows and you hear that whine...I suppose its fashion thing I just hope it fades soon and we get back to normal voices..

I absolutely LOVE Jennifer's music. She has recorded the most amazing music.
I am listening to "This Is Me... Then" her third album. I am a massive fan. I love a few of her movies, too: Maid in Manhattan, Enough and The Wedding Planner are films well worth watching.

No too impressed at Maid in Manhattan.
Her music is ok, but I have none of her in my collection.
She's so popular that I'm sure I've heard her songs before, but I can't recall any of it. None of the songs saved on my Spotify is by her either. ^^; I'm open to recommendations!
Out of curiosity, who are YOUR favourite music stars? Old or new.
It's not easy to choose names because I listen to stuff randomly. Like, sometimes I listen to Ariana Grande and Sam Smith, other times BTS and IU, but I'm also a fan of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff.

My tastes vary wildly from old to new. I do get into a bit of a dreamworld at times and, perhaps in a similar theme to getting engrossed in period dramas on the TV, I am perhaps similar with music. As an example to how it can get I do have a few CD's I compiled of 'Annette Hanshaw' - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annette_Hanshaw . I have similar CD's of other stars too as well as vinyl singels / lp's and 78's too from other times.
I'm not sure I have an absolute favorite... I like a lot of different music, so usually my favorites are by songs and not just by musician because there are times where I only like one song from someone and hate the rest xD

I have bought whole albums on the strength of one great track, only to discover the rest are rubbish.
I absolutely love this live blues version of Are Friends Electric, but the rest of the album was awful.

I have done that with CDs when I was younger, but I lucked out by liking most of the ones I bought.

Now we have streaming, so you can simply listen to that one track you love over and over again. But there's also this special feeling of buying a music CD, like how holding real books makes me feel compared to e-books, and I miss that.
