Lots of birds this morning, and one cat that had obviously noticed them too. I am not sure it was happy as I sent it on it's way though as it slunk away slowly like a sulky child.
I keep mostly seeing cardinals! I'll see 3 of them chasing each other around. They seem to be having a good time lol
Oh and well... Japanese beetles. Dozens every day =/ I am killing them, though, shhh... don't let them know. They are eating through my crepe myrtle, though.. it's already starting to look raggedy, and they just recently came around.

Being ex catholic, I can't help thinking.... eh?
My mom saw a cardinal the other day and wanted to make sure I didn't die.... LOL she is Jewish.
I then asked her if she died 3 times because I saw 3 of them.

We saw a super cute baby oystercatcher.. All grey and fuzzy with a little orange beak I'd like to scoop him up and take him home but I know how the adults screech so forget it.
We see hawks pretty often, too. Not in our backyard quite as much as they are around the block, but they do visit. I don't want them to eat my critters lol

I love listening to birdsong. My dad also has a birdfeeder in his garden: the birds can't get enough! There are around 3 cats that visit his garden, but we keep on eye on them, so they don't kill the birds.
Anyhow, I love wildlife. Nature is so beautiful at this time of year.

Cats area major threat to our bird life. The best way to control them is with a water pistol.

A bug. In my bed.
I was terrified: I flew out of bed, grabbed a tissue and crushed it. It was some sort of earwig. Again, I was terrified. If it had been a spider, I would've been fine. But it wasn't. I am religious about cleaning my bedroom. I wish that bug had not gone into my bedroom. I fear to think what else crawled in.
I hate bugs so much I always clean. It is boring, but if I don't clean bugs will set up home in my crib. I do NOT want insects making my apartment their home.

I have always been a bit wary of earwigs since I got nipped by one which was crawling across my brother's blanket when he was in his pram. They are not dangerous even though they are sometimes called battle twigs locally (old Lincolnshire). I tend to be careful when I take tomatillos out of their husks as earwigs sometimes take residence. They just surprise me when I open them lol
I can imagine as I hate insects in bed too. Even if I hear a mosquito flying around the room I have to get up and get rid of it. Spiders, I can live with, in the room though not on or in my bed
Try to relax, your home will be too clean for them to be common
Found a spined soldier bug nymph inside the house. I googled directly if they kill japanese beetles... and apparently they might. They are predators. I'm going to let it free near the problem area and hope he kills some of them when it's older lol
