My bathroom is now finished! It is re-wallpapered and painted Jasmine White on top. There is a turquoise accent wall. I have a peach flower lid & loo seat. I have fabulous flooring and a new bathroom cabinet. I have also decluttered my bathroom and clean it regular [twice a week, weekly]. I keep my shower curtain clean, too.
Hubby and I just got through putting the freezer back together after melting an ice jam in and around the drain tube. For about a week, we've noticed water/ice on the top shelf of the fridge.
I am noticing a few things here and there around the house. I still have a final payment to the contractor, I will definitely not pay him the entire amount. We need to hire professional plumber, electrician, handyman... to fix his errors.

That was a regular job with our old freezer. The fridge bit didn't ice up but there used to get a massive ice build up behind the freezer back wall. The auto defrost seemed faulty. We went back to using a normal manual defrost model. I seems far better and needs little attention with only yearly defrost.

That's frustrating. Would you recommend him to others?

In all my years, I've never had that problem before. Of course, I've had only three refrigerators. The avocado green one came with the house built in 1975. I got my parents' refrigerator they bought in 1988 when they replaced it with a smaller one. My dad took my old one to serve as a break room fridge at his work. It was still running when he retired in 2005. My parents' old one finally crapped out in 2006, and I replaced it with the one I have now. All had ice makers and were auto defrost. I never had that issue with any of them until now.
I think we overloaded it late last year. We ordered a bunch of stuff with our Thanksgiving turkey breast, and my dad sent us an unexpected package of Omaha steaks. I think I remember seeing something in the manual about not blocking a certain area of the freezer. I need to revisit that.

The older they are the more reliable they tend to be. But they don't have the newer functions.
My first one was old when I got it. It had a foot pedal, so if your hands were full or mucky, you didn't need to use the door handle, you just pressed the pedal, and it opened,

Nice! I've seen that type of thing on only modern minivans and SUVs.
That reminds me of some modern cars. When you unlock them the tailgate can automatically open. I have not had one that does but I would worry about it happening if I had one and it accidently triggered when my car was in the garage. I keep my car locked when it is garaged as it is more secure.
I wasnt planning it and its not for me but Ive agreed now. My friend is 76 and in bad health but her brother in law is turning 90 next month and they are organising a big family party. The grandchildren will be flying home from Indonesia and the US to be there. The family really wanted my friend to be there but of course she no longer drives and public transport is impossible for her. So they approached me. They have a hotel booked and have said they will pay all the expenses such as petrol ect.
I know if she doesnt go now there is no chance of her seeing her brother in law again and as the party is very near the place she was born, she was very excited to even be invited.
Ater speaking with the niece last night I phoned her and told her well Ive spoken to OH and to your niece and it looks like you and I are going on a trip.. You should have heard her voice, she could hardly get the words out.
Its a four hour drive from here in Germany ( Sauerland) and of course we will take it easy but now its just a case of working out the details.

Easing into the first school day after Spring Break. The oldest shouldn't have announced it was a school day, since that just caused the middle guy to start complaining. I said that we're learning all the time, so if it bothers you, just forget about school. As it is, we mainly use Mondays for reading and discussing the latest science news. We just got two science magazines on Friday as well, so we can talk about those. I think the main issue is dry books meant to teach kids various subjects (so the writing needs to see a ton of improvement) and things like worksheets. I do my best to find the most interesting videos and books instead, and I'll keep getting creative for our "work samples" that need to be uploaded - documenting some of our discussions, writing down their thoughts, and getting them to come up with cool little projects related to the topics they learn.
Anyway, it's been a good day so far and we still have a potential library visit coming!

My oldest was sick overnight. I thought strep throat, so we ended up in the emergency department for a couple of hours waiting for a swab. We'll find out the results on Friday. (I'm hoping for sooner!)
I totally didn't mind an excuse to cancel appointments for this week and just spend time at home so we're not spreading sickness around. Call me a hermit, the label just might fit this time!
I got my car service yesterday. All wnet well until I was settling down in the evening and got a call from the garage. No, not an oversight or a simple follow up. A push to sell me a new car! When I think back there were several instances when they were trying to push things. The motor trade must be slack
It seems she may have Drusens syndrome. They are going to monitor it. She is back in 6 weeks, then annually after that.
What are Drusens in the eye? Image result for drusens syndrome A. Drusen are small, yellowish deposits of cellular debris that accumulate under the retina — the light-sensitive layer of cells at the back of the eye that's essential to vision. Drusen occur in most people over age 60 and are more common in women than men.

I thought cars were so in demand they were sold as soon as they arrived?
