Hybrids and other gas sipping vehicles are especially prone, since their converters aren't as fouled as their gas guzzling counterparts. Still, all are at risk. My neighbor, who has an older Honda Odyssey, got hers stolen.
Of course, there's a lot to be said about using one's garage for its intended purpose, rather than store junk.
Yes, I am unusual for keeping my car in the garage. It is a good idea though, especially at this time of year. I used to smile inwardly at hearing neighbours with dying batteries or running their engines for a good number of minutes, trying to clear their screens of frost, first thing in the morning and I just open the garage, reverse out, close the garage and then drive straight off to work.
Hybrids, especially the older ones, are more susceptible here. I think later ones are not as attractive as they have less platinum or whatever they use.

I remember scoffing at my friend for having automatic electric doors fitted, but she is the only person I know who regularly uses the garage.

I am going to have to see if there is a problem around here that I am not aware of.

I spent a good few hours in the kitchen: from 2pm to 5:30pm today. I was making a roast dinner with my sister: it turned out really nice. We ate apple crumble with custard for dessert, too.
I am now glad to be back at home and on my computer!
A close friend just got married a month ago, his wife is from China, can't speak any English. I am hosting a dinner for 6 to welcome her next week. No one in that party comes from the same country, French, Germany, Morrocan, Chinese then hubby and I. I want to make it nice for them but I have so much to do this week
Photographing and listing OHs grandparents tea service for sale. It was a wedding gift from his grandfather to his grandmother in 1922. Its not wildly valuable but we wont use it or display it ( not my style) and none of our children want it. So we will sell it and whatever it brings we can give to the grandchildren.
Its such a shame in so far that his parents really thought this was an hierloom to be treasured and kept safe, they never used it and it was locked away in a cupboard. Times have changed and we no longer drink tea from tiny china cups so its no longer going to be used. It would have been so much better if his grandparents had loved it enjoyed it and used it, rather than keeping it for best only getting it out for church dignitaries and the odd aniversary..
It saddens me and Ive seen this so many times. One lady I worked for had fine linnen sheets hand embroidered a wedding gift she kept for best...She waited and waited for the right occasion, she waited nearly 70 years and when she died they were thrown in a skip unused. Much better if she had used them.. Hopefully there is someone out there who does love china with irmai style decoration and will love OH's grandparents tea service.

A bygone product, for a bygone day.
I admired a patient's tea set in her glass cabinet. "That is well over a hundred years old, and has been handed down through our family." She said. Before adding "Would you like it? No-one in my family wants it."
I had to decline, our glass cabinet is full of stuff, that we want, and have no room for any more. AND we never use little cups either. If I want a smaller drink, and often do, I will have half a mug.

I've been doing a load of cleaning today: hoovering, dusting, cleaning my bathroom and kitchen, washing the laundry, taking out the rubbish, airing out my apartment... I've been busy.

I'm tired today and may take a nap after lunch! So far I've started the laundry and cleaned in the kitchen. Haven't known what else to do with myself since I wasn't sure I had brainpower for reading or anything intense!
I was feeling good but the pain is kicking in, this time there is nothing mysterious about it. This morning I took a couple of steps up a little Embankment to get a better shot at some hare and deer, as I stepped down my lead foot hit a big pile of dog poop that was disguised in the leaves and as I felt myself slip my main thought was 'save the camera' so I held the camera high and came down quite hard on my hip and ribs. Ouch

I hope it feels better quickly. Now for all the pain you are enduring, did you get the picture?
