Drove up to Denver this morning to get my car serviced. I made this appointment 6 months ago. I left here @ 0730 and arrived @ 0900 for an appointment @ 0920. It wasn't until 0940 when someone even started to check me in!!! When they were finished with my car, I let them know that I was not happy.
I made another appointment in April for 0800, when they first open. It should make for an easier drive as well.
Stopped at IKEA on the way back home and tried their plant-based meatballs. They were pretty good. I then purchased some dish towels and rags, a couple of packages of orange Daim candies, some frozen meatballs, lingonberry sauce, and a couple of packages of filled butter cookies.
I really like the food court and the food they sell at Ikea.
My new house cleaning service was here, she spent almost 90 min to clean the kitchen and the family room ( there are only two couches, a TV and a TV crendenza in that room and my kitchen is very bared.
At one point, my husband got impatient, he told me he could not stand to have to work around someone that long, it might take her 5-6 hours to clean the rest of our house. I gave her full pay and ask her to leave early. When she said bye to me, she said " see you next week". I didn't know what to say. She also showed me the chamber of her vaccum cleaner " your house is so clean, there is almost nothing to vaccum?"!!
My husband and I have been making Polish Sausage. I put it in the smoker today.
They look really good!
When I was little dad had a hand meat grinder and used to mince meat but he never made sausages. I wonder where the grinder got to as it's something I could use but I think they got rid of it when they had to downsize. I would not use one often enough to justify buying.
We ground all that with an electric powered grinder which makes it much easier that the hand crank ones like my dad has.
Annie I know. We always get carried away. There was close to 20 pounds of meat. We freeze most of it and give some to friends and yes, it will last quite awhile.
I do find it easier to make in bulk and then freeze stuff , it saves on all the time and energy of setting up each time.
Exactly Cassie. I got that from my mom. She always makes everything in bulk.

Slow workers are like slow talkers, I always have this urge to finish their sentences.

It's much better at my garage as they have someone to check in fairly quickly, athough I tend to wait for it to be done so settle down by the coffee machine in a comfy chair and read a book. When I was at work I used to work on my laptop using their WiFi. This covid thing has spoilt it a bit though as, with the segregation, things are organised far less comfortably. Here appointments are usually made over a much shorter timespan. I have usually been able to book a good time with only a couple of weeks notice but, here again, covid has it's influence.

I have drunk my caffetterie coffee, put on a load of laundry, am airing out my apartment and browsing the Internet.
I shall shower later this morning and will be going over to my sister's house. I am going to be making a vanilla pudding today: it sounds seriously nice. My sister doesn't like chocolate, so it has to be vanilla.
I'll let you all know if I pulled it off later today!
Well, we planted our tree yesterday and did some other yard work.. today we will mulch the area around the tree, and then we're all done.
I ordered some groceries again, only because a bunch of GF frozen stuff I like was on sale.. so figured I'd pick up whatever was in stock. I also got some sweet treats... chocolate, toffees, dandies, slice of carrot cake, slice of chocolate chip cookie cheesecake... I like having a small dessert almost daily, but then I have a slightly bigger dessert at times on workout days lol I still try to keep the sugar amounts below a certain level for the day.

You can't kid us.
We know you are having a party, and none of us got invited.

lol nobody is allowed in my house during the pandemic. It's all for me and my SO
Just said goodbye to little man and my son. They are heading home today. Bit of mixed feelings about it, although its nice to have the house back to ourselves and be able to get OH settled again, I have no idea when I will see them again.
It would be so nice if they lived nearer but children must make their own life and his is in Ireland...

My dog loves it when my kids, ie former members of the pack, arrive. But she happily waves them off when they leave lol.

I know how you feel. Even though my son is much closer than the Isle of Wight where he was, Rugby is some way from us so popping roundon a whim to babysit with my grandaughter is not really an option. Luckily with modern technology we are seeing her grow up but visits are only sporadic and nothing beats actually being there
Washing sheets today and working on encouraging a quieter school day to ease into the week. I also booked a hearing test for the oldest for next week, so I rescheduled my dental appointment (cleaning and general check-up, I think) to make room for the travel time for that test. I don't mind waiting another month for the dentist. Although keeping up with a good toothbrush and such means it's not a big deal to move it!
Might go to the grocery store later and see if there's a decent lasagna we can heat up - too lazy this week to do it myself, but I planted the idea of the boys doing most of the work sometime for a school project.
Well, I'm about to call it a day. Yup, I go to bed at 9 pm to fully fall asleep around 9:30 pm haha but that's because I have to go to university early in the morning and after school I go to work. Today was an ok day, I finally received the new bowls for my cat from Amazon, I was hopping they work a little better but she keeps spilling the water, meh.

Just a terribly long day for me, I spent 6 hours at the store with the designer redesigning our kitchen, the measurements were wrong in various sections. By the time we got home, it was 5:30, I got an email from the contractor asking to meet at 8 tomorrow. they want to make sure everything will be laid out exactly the way we want. I know why they are intimidated, I spotted the kitchen island was off by 1 inch last week.

you are so lucky to fall asleep that easily!
You are still struggling with sleep?
Andrea is listening to meditation progs on her headphones at night. That and rainfall. It seems to be helping.
I'm not the best sleeper. It takes me a while to fall asleep and I wake very easily. Also i really need to be getting more. lately I have been going to bed at midnight and getting up before 5.
Been outside all morning , after walking the dogs we trimmed the hedge for the last time this year ( I hope) and cleaned out some junk that OH kept saying he needed but never used .. So its off to the dump this afternoon..
