Today included baking, a neighbourhood walk, cleaning the kitchen, and laundry. Plus a bit of cheesecake after lunch! Yum! (I haven't actually checked why dairy is associated with Shavuot. I just heard cheesecake mentioned recently in connection with the holiday, and was happy for an excuse, ha ha!)
I've also responded to Facebook messages from yesterday. I thought about taking photos of birthday cards and the two mugs I got as gifts, but then I'd get bogged down in staging the photos so they look good for others to see. So I decided to stick with a bunch of individual "thank you" replies, and I'll likely take photos for myself later. Silly? Perhaps, but less stressful for me, a non-photographer.

We got out to the park today so the kids could toss things in the river. Boy kind of play! I took a little longer walk myself, and then there was the exercise of vacuuming on both levels of the house - tidying up just to vacuum is usually more of a workout than using the machine!
After that, I packed up the last of the school books that are going back for summer break (since we can keep some over the summer if we like). We took two boxes to the post office, and the school pays for the postage. Sweet! Also got the youngest to the library since he had missed the last outing when he had a cold.
In the afternoon, I got some typing done of plot ideas I wrote back in 2021! (Way behind, eh?)
While I was busy with my computer today, I discovered that there are two files of real-life stories written by my dad's aunt Adina, so I enjoyed reading those in the afternoon as well. Stories of the 20's and 30's! I was very happy to read that my great-grandparents helped a lot of people in need during the Great Depression.
I went for one of my longer walks yesterday and got rather tired. Things didn't stop though as there was work to do around the house and I also took advantege of the good weather and trimmed the hedge and cut back some plants in the garden. The dull and wet weather has not done a lot for the fruit or tomatoes but it has certainly brought on a rush of green vegetation. Later I did a spot of painting but was not thinking well so I didn't push it too far. Needless to say I was well tired by bedtime.
The case worker is coming to the house this morning.. I hate the intrusion but I suppose its necessary they need to make sure I dont have OH locked in a cupboard..
Later Im making blueberry jam Ive had guinea fowl eggs and a jar of local produced pure bio honey from a local man, he doesnt want payment but he loves my jam so I will give him a couple of jars.
I worked with the Tuition Assistance Director today to review the award to students. I am very surprised to see that it is so common that there are many families with a monthly expense of $30-$40k. When I looked at the break-downs, I see cars, dining out, shopping, credit card expenses, kids' private schools.... The private schools in this area are quite pricey, from K-5th grade, the annual tuition is $30000. if there are three kids in the family, there go one paycheck.

I've now had my daily shower. And feel much, much better. I also used Lynx Africa Body Spray: it is my favourite body spray. I know it's for men, but I am hooked on the scent.
I got into a car accident today on the way back from work. My car was totaled. As soon as the police opened the door for me to get out, I walked across the street to make sure the other person was okay. I was super grateful that she told me she was fine. Her car was dented and the fender bender had a slight crack, she had tears running down her face. I apologized to her and admitted that it was completely my fault. The police officer told me that I did not have to do that but I told him it was truly my fault and I wanted her to know her problem would be taken care of. The women was on her way to work at her nightshift, I called my agent and put him on the speaker phone in front of her, I told the agent to please take care of her car repair, car rental, any medica; attention and if it goes over the limit, I will pick up the bill. My husband came to get me at the scene and we went to dinner, but I still could not forget her teary face. I did not know why she cried; I asked her if she was mad at me but she said only at the beginning. I offered to take her home, but the police told me he could do that.
My husband will go get me another car tomorrow since I will have a meeting until 2pm. He showed me what he had in mind but, even though I only had a big mark on my neck due to the airbag and seat belt, my throat feels very tight, and half of my jaws hurts right now. I also feel a little lightheaded. I hope this will not be any complications. Have to call that woman tomorrow to make sure she is okay.
I have just caught up on this thread, having been away for a while, and I was so shocked to hear about it
I am pleased to hear you were not seriously hurt, and I really respect the way you handled the whole incident
I only had my usual Sunday with the shopping then relaxing in the afternoon. I must have been tired though as I fell asleep during the film I was watching in the evening then when I got to sleep I slept well all night.

I do this all time!
I am watching the film, then my eyes become heavy and laden with sleep. Then I am away with the fairies!
