I am run off my feet. I got up in the morning and drank my coffee. I also showered and met up with my sister for lunch. We wandered around a LOT of shops. And bought a lot. Then we walked home and I helped my sister prepare dinner. Later I did my daily exercises and was driven home by my dad.
After walking the dogs we stopped at the side of the road to watch an oldtime rally go past and take some photos it was nice that people waved and tooted all smiles and happy faces.. No photo karens!
At home we got to work on the last part of the embankment wall which meant another first for me using a pile driver.. Wow that thing makes bits jiggle that Id forgotten I even had !!

The big ones which workemen use make the road vibrate a lot so I can well imagine
Fortunately, Sophia hadn't seen my post about the earrings I was going to buy her for her birthday. But now she has joined the Forum, things could get interesting

Remember that outfit I bought for Mom to wear home from the hospital? Well, just before I went to mark it, I noticed that the pants had long slits on the legs. I couldn't return them, since I had already run them through the washer and dryer. So, I decided to baste them closed for the trip home. Turns out, she wore a hospital gown while being transported back to her facility. So, I took everything back home. Yesterday, I spent a good deal of time ripping out the side seams and resewing them back together.
This is why I keep user manuals around, even decades after getting something. I have a sewing machine that I rarely use. I had a hard time putting the bobbin back in! So, I dug the manual out, then felt like an idiot because the solution was so simple! I should have known better. Well, I got everything sewn back together. I'm going to put the outfit in a gift bag with some other things and bring it to Mom for Mother's Day.
Hubby and I attended our first cooking class yesterday as well..."Soups 3" at the French Kitchen. It was a nice time.

We accomplished our tasks of mucking out the stable and cleaning the tack this morning.
After our meal this evening we are going into 'movie' mode and will be watching our next film in the 'Oceans' franchise.
We should have watched Ocean's Twelve yesterday but we watched Ocean's Eight instead. This movie has two of my celebrity crushes in it - Sandra Bullock and Anne Hathaway, so we had a nice bit of eye candy
Im feeling not smug but vindicated. We walk the dogs along a lane on one side is farmland where a lot of fairly rarer field and wading birds like the godwits and curlews breed on the other side is the lake and marsh where we see egrets spoonbills swans lapwings fieldfares etc and then there are deer and hares..
You are free to walk in the lane and there are no fences but dogs are not allowed to run loose or go into the fields.
However we often see people with loose dogs. One lady has three big GSD's and although they are not aggressive they charge at my dogs barking and yappng which makes my dogs bark and lunge causing me pain.. Ive spoken to her about putting her dogs on a lead and she shrugs. But worse still Ive seen her dogs chase wildlife in the field. Well she got her comeuppance today. Her dogs were running loose as always when a van came down the lane and stopped because the dogs were right in front of it a man got out and started talking to her in an agitated manner. He then got back in the van and when he drew level wth us he stopped again. I expected some sort of row but he was actually very nice, he was from the provinical authority and asked if we knew her, we told him no and he asked if she often had her dogs loose. So we explained that they are freindly but a PITA and that we have seen them chasing wildlife. He told us she got a formal warning from him and if he sees her again with the dogs loose the police will be involved.
He also thanked us for having our dogs under control.
Its nice to A, to get a bit of recognition for obeying the rules and B see that the arrogant idiots who ignore them sometimes get caught

We also have irresponsible dog walkers here too.
Many times we see them off the leads and chasing after the ponies in the Forest, or water birds in wetland areas of Nature Reserves.
If you say anything to them they either completely ignore you or tell you to mind your own business.
We do have Forest Rangers who deal with this sort of thing but they are never around when the offences are committed
Well done you Cassie for being a responsible dog owner.

I'm helping write song lyrics with my online friend. I supply the lyrics - which he edits accordingly - and writes music for them. We are quite the team!
Anyhow, I had my daily shower today and gave my apartment a good clean. It certainly needed it

In a previous post by you I asked the question "have you published anything?"
As I don't really know you that well I apologise for my ignorance

A lot of dog owners are selfish and self righteous.
I was completey confused yesterday, I think. I got all my things ready for the Monday art group meeting and set out. I got nearly half way there and realised it was not this week. I was a week early
After turning around and going home I ended up varnishing my worktop and the internal bay windowsill in the house.

Today was prep. Tomorrow I wont be around , Im off to Germany again, but there are major roadworks on the city ring road in Groningen so Ive planned a route avoiding the city altogether. Its a few kms longer but without the shunt shunt traffic.

I hope everyone else doesn't get the same idea.
I hope the journey is smooth too.
Sometimes I have actually found that they organise far better for major works and there is less delay than for an almighty mess of various smaller works interacting.
I'm reminded of when I had to negotiate a major roundabout reconstruction in the middle of Leicester some years back. I was often there and passed though several times over the weeks it went on but was not held up at all. I was never there during rush hour though. They can get it right
