You should've seen my Nan's house in Sweden when I was a kid: it was gorgeous. The garden had a mini mountain and steep footpath on each side. There were an abundance of plants and flowers. My Nan had an indoor porch, too. Inside the house was amazing. It was clean and had this fresh smell about it. My Nan also had a cellar, where we'd watch "The Scarlet Pimpernel" [with Jane Seymour in from 1982] on VHS tape.

I recall the smells of my Nan's garden after the rain. There was another large porch at the back. I used to love standing on it and viewing the woods in the background.

It is no wonder I love Sweden - and my Nan - so much. I do miss those days: they were the days of my young life.

It looks to work well there. I am a bit on the fence normally as I find it does look very false when people use it as a front lawn. I presume it is porous in that it allows water to pass through?

We have a new floor being fitted today.

I so hate my old floor.

I hated it coz I had to clean it.

It was a laminate of a stone tiled floor, and for some strange reason, it had built in stains. To make it look authentic I suppose, but it never looked clean, obviously, and I like floors to look clean.

Every time I cleaned it, I would look at the stains, and give them an extra rub, to see if they were 'standard' or real.

Just annoying!

I am already looking forward to cleaning the new on.

I have never heard of laminated stone before. What kind of material and what color is your new floor?
