You can try vinegar for weed killers in the driveway. Not in your lawn... lol unless you want to kill everything.
Have you?
I use nothing ever. I let them grow in my driveway even ;p I see bees and birds eating things off the plants, so I just keep them.. but we just keep them short.
I have read about vinegar working well, though, for those who want an alternative to roundup.
My luck. The spring on my garage door broke today and I couldn't get my car out. It has been repaired but that was an unexpected expense for sure and just before my vacation.

It is an early Sunday morning and I just could not sleep, due to the heat. So I've gotten up, brushed my teeth and am drinking my caffetterie coffee whilst browsing the Internet.
It is going to be a long day: I've got a load of cooking and food preparation to do at the house.
I felt evil this morning as it was clear the weeds on the drive. The only time I use weedkiller. I spent the rest of the morning until coffee time in the garden. The first tomatoes are coming now.
Which drive weedkiller are you using. We have Roundup total weedkiller, but it's not!
Maybe a second dose.........
I used Roundup. I don't remember the version without looking but it was a stronger one that I originally bought for brambles and tougher things then never really used. I do has a suspicion that it may not keep very well as, when I did the drive last year with a lesser version, it did not work well at all and it was over a year old. It does seem to take days to work. I will research a little before buying any more as I know they have further restricted things recently limiting what we can buy in the shops. It is possible to get stronger things over the internet but I think many are illegal to import for weedkiller use.
As an aside, there are a lot of fairly ordinary products that are difficult to get now. For instance, if you were wanting to paint an oil painting with traditional materials the much used lead whites are not available for normal use and lead based electronic solder is not availble to the home user either although the internet can be used. There are times when the alternatives are poor relations. I do wonder how long it may be before cadmium based artists paints are banned?
Weeds are annoying but so is cancer and glyphosate used in roundup is linked to cancer in humans. Bayer ( the manufacturer has already set aside funds to pay for the cancer claims they know are coming) Plus it doesnt just kill weeds it kills insects including bees... Its banned in most EU and US places now and even in places where it still is allowed to be sold many shops are simply removing it from the shelves. In the USA tests have shown that because it can be carried by the insects before they die it is getting into the food chain.

We have been seriously naughty and I don't regret it. There is a narrow sandy footpath next to the lake where we walk the dogs. It's also popular with fishermen who sit on the little piers and fish. I have no problem with that but recently they have started opening the gate and driving their cars along the footpath so that they can park on the grass verge and use their cars as a base for all of their fishing equipment.. Of course they only do this on Sunday when there is no chance that the council will catch them and fine them... This morning was just the absolute limit they were no less than 6 vehicles that had driven in over the grass and over the footpath to park at various spots along the lake. Not only had they unloaded all their fishing gear they were playing radios and one even had a portable barbecue with him.. When we got back to our car my husband remembered that in our emergency kit we still have a short chain and a padlock so we chained the gate shut... they are stuck! I hope they have to call the fire brigade to let them out. Yes it's naughty but not as naughty as them and I hope this is enough to put them off driving over a footpath again.

WOW, those are thick springs....
You must be stronger than you look.
Me, no, not really. But those springs are huge and heavy. It surprises me that they can break.

The ones on ours we keep heavily lubricated with grease and oil. On ours they run in channels. I remember, years ago, having one with which the door half fell off it's mount. Remembering that I make sure it is well maintained as I was lucky it didn't fall on the car.

I thinkI learned my lesson and I will keep mine more lubricated now. I was told to do so once a month, something that I wasn't doing.

I cleaned my apartment today. I cleaned both my bathroom and kitchen. I also hoovered and am airing out my apartment. I dusted, too. It took me a good two hours, but was well worth the time and effort.
On break from work.. going to exercise in a bit then have lunch and grade some assignments before returning to my second shift of my other job. I'm feeling tired and winded today (higher HR), so I'm not sure how well I'll do with some of the workouts.
I must have been well tired by bedtime last night as I slept well all night even though things were hot and humid. There seems to be so much to do at the moment. I do see my weeds are slowly dying off on the drive, but I shall try vinegar next time. I will look online to see if there are other natural ways too.

I heard the best plan is to wash them out with a powerhose, then add salt to prevent recurrence.
This morning I had a somewhat shorter walk as it is very hot, for here. Only around 2 or 3 miles. It's not so much the heat now but the biting flies, at least in certain places. Near to where there are horses so perhaps horse flies. Flies, in general, are becoming a nuisance though. Now it is getting toward harvest time the thunderflies (thrips) are beginning to appear. As I wandered past the wheatfields I did wonder if you get major problems with them around the prairies and similar places in the US. It did remind me of the one that lodged itself in the centre of the screen on our desktop computer monitor and is still there. They get everywhere.
One clue to how warm it is is with the animals. Not many about, even people, and those there are take advantage of the shade. Most of the sheep in two fields I passed yesterday were taking advantage of the shade:
Even though it's not very hot here the sun has an intensity to it which just seems to burn instantly. So we are now walking at silly oclock in the morning. Most days we are out by 6:30 am .. that way the dogs can enjoy a decent walk before it gets too sunny.. And then as if it wasn't hot enough I baked bread today !
