Hello heatherly.
Gobbledegook is suitable for younger readers: there is no profanity or abusive language. It isn't sexuality explicit, either. BUT My Heart's Desire IS for adults. There is explicit language in that poetry book.
The Gobbledegook art work I did at 15 years old. I kept it on my computer well before using it professionally. Electronica 2021 is also my own art work.
Electronica 2021 is suitable for young adults. But also caters for older readers.

Hi Cherry.
Having your son own a tarantula is amazing. But aren't you scared it'll escape? Does your son ever take it out of its enclosure to pet it?
I love spiders myself. They have incredible intelligence and agility. Scientists even have trained a spider to do a assault course.
Basically they tested 15 spiders to see if one could be taught to follow a spider assault course. One spider - Kim - was willing to learn and do it. Kim was the only spider with the brains to do all this. Scientists did all this to learn how we can transfer spider power to robotic power. Spiders physicality is so amazing scientists want to apply that to technology.
He does get it out from regularly. It just sits in his hand.
It is only little, so doubt it would do much harm. He knows what he is doing, and besides, he is too old to live with me anymore. So, the spider can't scare me....

Big spiders don't scare me BUT I am wary.
Keeping the spider calm is very important, though: as your son realizes. I am also glad your son is not afraid of spiders and other creepy crawlies. They ARE part of our planet and have every right to be here [as long as it's not in my apartment: I draw the line at bugs in my home!].

I hope anyone enjoys reading my poetry.
I read some, like them Paula, I would say it sounds "free form" when I read them.

It won't sell any copies, but at least I try.
My books do need advertising if they're to sell. I don't know how to advertise my books online. Because if other people don't know about my books, they can't buy them. And I am not going to go down the route of selling to my friends and family: that doesn't mean I've been successful. No - if I want my books to sell - I need to reach a wider audience.
Now, I have Googled my books and they are there on the Google search engine. But I need to expose my work more on the Internet. But Google bookmarking me, does mean there's more chance of people buying - and reading - my work.

Having your own web page can help. Sending free copies to reviewers can help, or even asking friends to review and place a FB mention.. Sometimes local newspapers do little features on local on people who have special hobbies or talents. You could ask them if they are interested in reading and reviewing possibly interviewing you about your books.
Self promotion is hard though.
One special moment for me was when my brother told me he had been on a plane and the guy next to him kept giggeling..Alan glanced at the guy who apologized and said this is just really funny and he showed Alan my book!

You're welcome! Do also tell me your thoughts when you've finished reading "Dreamcatcher"!
I got the title idea from Roald Dahl's BFG. Because the stories are like dreams that have been captured by giants. It is a romantic title, too. And is deeply enchanting. I just love magic and colours and worlds that I design myself. Because you can make up anything when writing. It IS a form of enchantment and is enjoyable to read.

The BFG is my favourite Roald Dahl. (Dahl's Chickens!) Where was it when I was young? I had to settle for other novels, but this one, I discovered with my boys and it's brilliant!
