I have metalwork and stone art in my bathroom. Never a worry about moisture.
Stone is safe. I think Brass, Copper and Bronze are okay too, rust resistant.
They are, but just needing polishing as they do tarnish unlike chrome or stainless steel. Tarnished cuprous metals do give a bit of patina for a vintage look though.
I tend to look at things aesthetically, my husband prefers the feel of the fabric and the comfort of how they are built. I decorated three of his houses before we got married.

I love my new bathroom. It has a turquoise accent wall. The loo seat is a peach flower design. I have new white wallpaper in there. I also have blue and white tiles and a new mirrored bathroom cabinet. I also have a new shower curtain.
It looks pretty good.
But that's the way the world is, James: if you don't look like you deserve that desk, you're not going to get that desk.
Yes I must admit the whole maximalist thing makes my head ache. Great if you can pull it off but I prefer more neutral shades, light bright spaces nothing clashing or screaming at me.
A little rustic or french country is more my thing.
