things that annoy us

recently I've been annoyed by the fact that at the bottom of the page, (no matter what site I'm on), I get suggestions of youtube videos

I don't want them

if I want suggestions of youtube videos, I'll go to youtube

no idea... new thing that's happening

on a health site I use, their is a gal who, no matter what you post, sends you a message.. I read your post, and I just want to tel you you matter.

don't get me wrong, I think the thought is wonderful, but part of me thinks.. well, couldn't she say a bit more and let people know that she's actually a person, not a robot or an automated thing on the site.

I've seen her post her own stuff, so... she's definetly human

My SO has a patient that texts her twice E V E R Y single day. "Good morning" and "Good night". That's it, never any more than that.

I think that's really sweet.

I got an email from just eat today

the subject line was: are you ready for some professional cooked food this weekend?. followed by the man smileyface

so what about us women, then

Hoax season is rapidly approaching...

Favourites include UK/ Poppies are being banned form sale in case it offends ..Totally untrue but this gets rehashed every year ..
Trick or treaters in certain areas being the target of radical groups putting poison or razor baldes in apples etc again untrue but the urban myth persists..

Christmas parties /lights/decorations and even the name Christmas being banned because of some groups being offended all untrues although some silly left wing councils have sometimes used names like winter festival to avoid any possible offense and cause a huge backlash in doing so often from the very groups they claim to be representing,,


What really gets me is not the trolls who think this rubbish up but those braindead fools who spread it year after year and even when they are told or offered proof that its a hoax they still spread it 'just in case'... Just in case of what?

My son came home in his first year at school (5 years old) and said he needed 10p the next day because teacher said they had to buy a poppy. He asked why and I told him about Flanders Fields. He was so revolted by the whole thing he donated the money but refused to wear a poppy ...ever.

I should wear my poppy: I know what it is about and support it wholeheartedly.

Having volunteer/career soldiers, ready for conflict, eliminates the need for conscripts. The older ones who have been around a while train the younger ones. We haven't instituted the draft since the Vietnam war.

I think conscripts deserve as much help as they need. Career soldiers should know what they are getting into. The service should really be paying for good insurance ring fenced by government for their potential needs, resulting from their service, as part of their contract, in my opinion.

You've made a highly valid point, Cassie: charities don't always use all their funds for the cause: they use some of that money to pay the charity workers. Whether that is wrong or right, I don't know: all I know is my sister agrees with you and won't donate to dodgy charities or just charities that only use a small percentage of each donation for the actual cause.

Hopefully she won't contact you again. You're chalk and cheese, I guess. If she does phone again, just be honest with her: with tact, though!
