This jacket potato really set me fuming. The country is falling apart, people are skipping meals and showering in cold water and some prize p**** comes up with this.
Some people are obviously exploiting others. Perhaps top restaurants need heavy taxes on their food. I tried growing some of those edible flowers they rave over for looking pretty. They don't taste good to me.
Maybe they could donate a sack of spuds to food aid for every jacket they sell. They would not even notice the loss.
The fact is that in times of poverty, there will always be some who do really well out of it.
Remember the covid multi millionaires?
I haven't checked the truth in it but it's said National Car Parks really gained their hold by using bomb sites from WWII.
That made me think... the price of some parking areas where I am is pretty pricey. $10 to park a car!? How annoying... everyone just ups the price of everything. I'm glad I hardly go anywhere, and I usually can find parking spots in front of the location I am going to, and the parking meters are cheaper still.. but rising over time.

It has been as long as I can remember that we have to pay $3/hour to park in a parking garage at most places we go to. My son told me a parking spot cost about $50K in the complex where his fiancee used to live in DC.
It's not often I go into the town centre now but it used to keep me fit as I parked out of the centre and walked in to save hassle and charges. As some will know, Lincoln (Uk) has it's cathedral and quieter areas at the top of a hill whereas the shops are down below so it is good exercise to walk up and down.

What annoys me, is my radio cutting out when I get physically close to the radio. Especially when my favourite song is playing.
I also find it annoying when people never clean beneath their beds: they let their clutter and mess sit underneath their bed to grow mould and stink out their bedroom. It drives me up the wall.
Another thing that annoys me are people who only wear T-Shirt and jeans. The look is ugly and lazy. AND people who wear thick sweaters in summertime.
She was born in the uk but came here age 1 year... She is fluent in English but thats all shes never lived there or been part of the culture ..Shes now almost 34...
The Queen died... Suddenly people are texting her.. " oh sorry your Queen died" etc she's been asked about protocol, state funerals etc she has no idea...
Its upset her ghat under the surface of acceptance people stillclass her as an outsider
when you've been waiting for 2 weeksfor a person to play who wants to be a millionaire who seemed really inteligent, only to find that he crashes out on the 5th question leaving with nothing
My parents were immigrants to Britain. Yet the only language I speak is English. I don't like telling people this, but they can - sometimes - guess.
Still, I don't consider myself to be foreign: I am British like everyone else here. I don't advertize, though, that I am the daughter of foreigners and never insult the royal family or truly English people.

My mother was fluent in Swedish, but she never taught me the language: my brother wasn't taught, either. My sister learnt the language from our grandmother and going to Sweden every year from childhood.
My father is Irish and has taught me some Irish slang and the Irish ways.
I definitely consider myself Irish, rather than Swedish. I also feel Ireland is my spiritual home, from trips over there many times.

Why the hell shouldn't people dress they way they want and be comfortable? Are people dressing that way hurting anyone? Maybe that's what they can afford? Maybe they live somewhere hot and it helps them keep cool? I really don't understand this? Am I missing something?
Im normally in jeans and cotten tops or shirts. I mostly wear hiking boots, trainers or wellingtons . .
Why? Because I live in a place that isnt suited to heels and have a life with two very active dogs.. Try hiking for miles through the woods in pretty dresses and sandals... While being dragged about by a beagle in full hunting mode..
Dress to your budget, your style and your lifestyle...
people who can't take a hint people that talk to you even after you've made it quite clear that 200 messages a day saying, I'm praying for you isn't needed.

I apreciate the thought, but accessive much
Sometimes people are difficult to read. If you are not on the same wavelength, so to speak, as the other person, and vice versa, then a hint may be fairly meaningless. It's perhaps like a blind person not seeing someone's body language and totally mis-reading a situation. Body language maybe is a set of subtle hints. (my deep thought for today ).
With my (poor?) social skills I would have problems with this. Sometimes hints mean the reverse of what they appear to. An obvious example is playing hard to get meaning come on. The differences between go away and come on can be subtle and I have noticed it work and go wrong in similar measures ever since I remember.

Hints require three things:
The giver to be good at giving, and the receiver to be good at spotting and analysing.
