I live a very time oriented lifestyle. If you make an appt. for me at 1 PM, I expect the dr. to be punctual like they expect us to be 15 early. I waited 2 hrs to get into see the specialist about my thumb when the knuckle was sticking. If they're gonna be that backed up then the staff and the front desk should give us the option to reschedule rather than making a person sit for 2 hours. I almost walked out a couple times.
Something that annoys me is people who have no sense. I'm not talking common sense, just any sense in general. If you go to work at a new job and your little office or closet is locked with a piece of tape that is always on the door, I would think you would keep an eye on that. If the tape was still there in say a week, I would think you would turn it in as a work order. So one of my coworkers that's been here longer than me and at least a year has never asked about the tape on the door. So the fire marshall today took the tape off so she can't get into her closet to get her cart or anything. One of the closets in the birth center locks but you can pull the door open. If the surveyors find that we're gonna get dinged for it. I don't get people. If you know you're supposed to let someone know something is broken, why ignore it and walk away?

I called at a patient's house less than 5 minutes late. She opened the door "You made it then? I just left a message on your answerphone."

She was serious too.
5 Minutes!!!
When it comes to time keeping there is nothing like the army.
My father used to tell me be home by 10 p.m.. If I was late he was on the doorstep with his watch you were told to be home at 22 h not 2206 he would bark... After a while my friends refused to walk me home they were so intimidated by him.
He used to work at Texaco oil in Knightsbridge London, it was a very confusing address and I once watched his replacement stand outside scratching his head and looking for the address, I said 'dad should I go outside and point him in the right direction'?
No said my dad he's an adult he knows he has to be here at 13 h he should have made contingency plans.
When the poor guy eventually ventured through the front door to see if it was the right place dad barked at him in much the same way he did when I was late..
You could say he was an A-Hole, but I always knew that he had been bought up by a statistic control freak and he really couldn't help it.

People who expect others to follow their own standards are always going to feel disappointed in life. I do feel sorry for them, it's an affliction.

Exactly this. We are the product of our upbringing but we can change and adapt... although I dont do late.. absolutely never late..I am more understanding of people who are especially if its not because of tardiness.
When you're in the shower and the Postman arrives.
It happened today.
It happens often with me and many parcel delivery people don't like waiting more than a second or two.
Uncertain delivery times is the worst complication though as, to the good, deliveries are regularly a day or two earlier than quoted but the unpredictability is not helpful as I have often looked on the computer early on and the delivery is scheduled for a day or two in the future on the delivery companies tracker but ends up being that same day.

There used to be a time when a delivery driver would knock and wait for an answer. Should no answer be forthcoming he/she would simply call in to the neighbour and leave it with them. Nowadays, it's BAM BAM BAM BAM on the door like there's a fire and the parcel(s) are unceremonuously chucked in a heap on your doorstep. These companies must have good insurance if they can afford all of the stolen parcels etc. Sometimes it's kinda handy that they don't deliver to our crabby next door neighbours , with whom I had a party wall dispute last year, but things have been stolen or broken
In defence of delivery guys .. We have a really nice delivery driver Ed ,, his wife ( also a delivery person) and I have each others mobile numbers so if Im not in he sends me a message to call him when I get back and he pops in with my parcel. In the summer he often pops in to refill his water bottle or his wife will have a drink and a chat with us.
My DHL guy is a very sweet young guy too he always laughs about our 'early warning system' ( the dogs) but he waits until I get to the door, yell at the dogs undo the locks and open the door.. If Im upstairs I have leant out the window and called to him to leave the parcel on the doorstep. I know how tight their schedules are.
My daughter has a DHL man who is so lazy its amazing , any small package gets delivered but anything he needs to lift he ignores and she has watched him drive past as her phone pinged to say 'You were not at home'
We don't usually have too many issues with deliveries except for Fed-X. For some reason he likes to deliver packages to the wrong address.
We used to have problems, because our village name was preceded by Great, whereas the next village had the same name but was preceded by the word Little. The road that ran between us had the exact same name.
Delivery men often ignored Little or Great, so our post could end up anywhere. Two of my neighbours wouldn't order for that reason.
That was one of the reasons we moved out.

You would think the postal code would be the first thing they'd check, and that would direct them to the right village. I think it's that way here, so I always confirm the postal code (or zip code when sending to the US) besides the street address.

Things like that have only indirectly affected me as I have never lived in a village with such problems athough our house number occasionally gets confused and the postman sometimes gets the street confused and we get letters for the same number on another part of their round. If I don't catch the postman I often deliver it directly when I am out walking but one I remember was obviously a speeding fine notification so I took that round to the post office for them to re-deliver as I did not want to be the one to deliver bad tidings.

We also get post for the neighbours we are 57 they are 59 but theirs is a flat above the gym on the corner and the postman doesnt always realise. so they shove post for 59 through my door..
My post about my day had me thinking of an annoyance.... Miscommunication between various people who work together....?? Nobody being on the same page.... and maybe it's partially due to disorganization. That annoys me lol

I find that it is sometimes due to an organisation trying to improve things by splitting up funtions to enable each of them to be done more efficiently. That can work but often fails in the communication between functions. It is essentially extra work and can potentially slow the process.

Is that the fault of the under managers or the senior?
I had under managers for all my departments, but all, but two, just waited for me to decide. It was particularly frustrating, as I was the only one pushing forward. They all seemed happy to wallow where they were.
I never appointed one of them, they were all inherited.

I was never a manager in those terms but did come across that sort of thing. My manager was the type not to suffer fools though so it was just as bad not to act as to act and get it wrong. I am a bit of a rebel / maverick too so went out and did my best for the patients, even exceeding my, at least contracted, authority quite often to get things moving. My manager was hard to read as he appeared democratic but was really very autocratic and played his cards so close it was often easier to go elsewhere, sometimes even to other departments, to find out what was going on. I often didn't get the politics so ignored them and did my own thing. It often didn't win me brownie points but I think there was at least some respect. I had a lot of happy patients which made me happy. I really worked in a poorly organised situation which had theoretical defined responsibilities but in fact often relied more on the individual aims and agressions of the staff, no matter what their effective rank.

I think I failed to motivate them.. That's the person I blame.
What annoys me is when I see parents yelling at their innocent children. It is so cruel and mean: I hate it.
There is yelling and there are firm words. Often the difference is not obvious. I know what you mean though as some do go on and on. Mostly I find it unnecessary and irritating as there are other, better, ways. I take it though that you are referring more to the dawdling but otherwise innocent child who is getting the wrath of an impatient parent?
What annoys me is when I see parents yelling at their innocent children. It is so cruel and mean: I hate it.
As a mother I can tell you sometimes firm louder tones are what it needs to disipline a wayward child. I used to warn my children once in firm tones, if they didnt behave I would count to 3 if they still hadnt stopped I took action. Once my boys were arguing in a supermarket I warned them .( If you dont stop we are leaving) ..I counted , they continued to squabble so I put the cart to one side marched both of them out of the store and we went home.
Yelling at them just for the sake of sounding off no, being loud or firm to regain control, ensure safety , or as disipline yes.
I received my homeowners insurance bill yesterday. What annoys me is how much of an increase they can get away with. Mine went up almost $600. I'll be shopping around.
