The irony of where the accident happens makes this even funnier than it should be!
No worries, Cherry. Can't remember what I said before, I just remember watching a video about tips on keeping your laptop healthy for a long time, and one of them is to open the back case and clean the insides from dust etc at least every 6 months. I'm too worried I'll break the whole thing if I do that myself lol.
The Chromebook and I are now struggling. And my wireless mouse isn't helping.
Oh no! Maybe it will just take some time getting used to it.
I hate wireless anything.... Even gaming versions or ones with longer battery lives. I will always choose corded everything because they will always be much more responsive and reliable on average.
Just curious, why did you decide to go with Chromebook? It does look simpler than regular Windows or Mac laptop though. And yep, I also went with wireless mouse a while ago, then it broke and I'm back here with a wired one. Same goes with my headphones.
I attended a (zoom) event today watching our engineering students presenting their capstone projects, so proud of them. Most of them already had job offers too.

Meanwhile, I can't stop looking:
Samsung is truly an amazing company. To see how incredible they are, you have to be right there in Korea. Their longevity and relevance are very enduring. I can write a book about my five year dealing with Korea. Samsung opened the door for me to be where I am today. Very thankful to them.

I find it interesting that with almost anything I buy technical something seems problematic in the first few days. Yes, I have come across problems with wireless things too. I mostly avoid them although did buy an additional wireless mouse with my last laptop. I had ideas but things didn't go in that direction.

I agree with this. Samsung IS a great company. Their products work amazingly.
I love technology myself: I have a PC, a tablet AND a smart phone. I cannot get bored of social media, either.
But that's the way the world is, James: if you don't look like you deserve that desk, you're not going to get that desk.
I'm Team Samsung! I use an Apple iPad that my SO was given from work for one app... but I really don't like it otherwise lol I don't understand the Apple obsession other than very good marketing convincing people it's the greatest....??

I never thought of the name much before.. but it's funny it's described as the backbone, and I suppose mothers are considered the same in the family... hmm lol

It's the main circuit board that carries all the components to communicate with each other.

That's interesting, sounds like you traveled around Asia quite a lot in the past! A few days ago I saw a vlog of Samsung's display gallery in Korea (I think it was in Seoul), and it looked absolutely amazing. Not only for their gadgets, but also for their home appliances and everything else. The features were so extensive to the point where you could choose the color combinations of your fridge using example blocks. Maybe I'm the country bumpkin who rarely visits high-end furniture stores, but those things look so special to my eyes lol!
Samsung has come so far, that I can't argue with. Gadget life became different once they joined the game, and they made so many steps forward with these releases.

Maybe it's about how smooth everything is. These days the differences didn't feel real, but I think back then it mattered. The learning curve was steep with iOS, but once I got the hang of it, opening/running/switching apps was very light. It felt nice to me who tend to become impatient if my gadget lagged behind. All of that thanks to an exclusive chip with relatively lower RAM power compared to its competitors. That was innovation, and it was just cool. Now Apple lags behind Samsung in innovation, what a shame.
I like both Samsung and Apple equally, I think. It's just hard to balance the costs of their gadgets and the specs I need for my daily usage, especially after knowing what the Chinese companies can offer. That's why I can't bring myself to pre-order Flip 3 as much as I'm drooling over it lol.
As far as Samsung goes with their appliances i think they have gone down hill. I replaced my refrigerator and my new one needed the ice make changed twice and then the third time they replaced the refrigerator and guess what, the icemaker went again. I also bought a washer very similar to the one I had before. The detergent/softener dispenser is constantly leaking and has also been repaired twice. Needless to say no more Samsung appliances for me. I do have to say that their televisions can't be beat though.
CMEs wreak havoc on satellite ground communications as well.
It does make me wonder at these undersea cables. How old are they. Modern ones should have repeaters of military spec. Even the somewhat old ones were well made. I wonder this because, if they are and have problems then protected circuits in aeroplanes may get blown too. I suppose a difference is that a long cable does behave as an aerial so the induced problems would be greater?

That's unfortunate, but I guess not everything can be perfect. They also make laptops that look good, but the reviews aren't too good.

You remind me how I often plug the ethernet cable into the computer if I am downloading something that is very big. It tends to be more reliable, epecially if the net is being used for something else at the same time.
