I looked up ways how I could create better prompts for ChatGPT and I found this one video where he literally describes every thing that I have already learned about this platform in a short couple of weeks. I think I might be growing addicted to this platform. ( youtu.be/VlJUNB68fsg ) Though the platform does handle long bodies of text well but that only further requires even more detailed instructions for the AI.

Currently, the new laptop is having a tantrum. Whatever the reason is, Windows Hello with its fingerprint scanner and PIN suddenly stopped working. I tried to reset but it is unavailable (in gray). It is back now in password opening only. It's a shame because the biometric system is the way to go on a laptop nowadays. We've paid for this and now we can't use it. I have done most of the recommended (by Google) ways to fix it but of no avail. Has anyone experienced it, and how did you resolve the issues? It's a new laptop, Acer Swift 5, 2022.
That would be frustrating! Sorry I can't be any help, cattleya - I'm used to using a PIN or Microsoft account password, and haven't tried a fingerprint scanner yet. I wonder if an update to Windows has messed with that capability...

I have never used one but I imagine it is irritating. It's interesting that most things that are new still have teething troubles, even with modern technology.
You have probably seen them but here are a couple of places to look:
My new computer is an acer: I've had no problems with it. However, it is a tower and not a laptop.
I'd take jen's advice.
I've always found it an advantage to have both a tower and a laptop. Our old desktop is still chugging on though so it does not need replacing, even though I would love something with more power. It's a bit of a bind rigging up my laptop for my simulator, although it does work well.

...And I love my new computer!
Although I am using my old one as I had to download a load of Internet and personal pictures onto my new computer: it's a long story. Needless to say, my new computer now stores my Internet pictures and other pictures.
My dad is unplugging my old computer tomorrow, so then it'll just be my new computer.

I need a reasonably big computer, rather than a laptop. I like my hardware because it is so durable. Laptops aren't right for me. Now, I DO have a smart tablet: I couldn't live without it. I am on it every day. I also love my smart phone.

Living in the 21st century has its advantages!
I find the big computer is good in that it has a larger screen and my stepson left his big speakers when he left home so it is far better for TV / video. The printer, although seldom used, sits next to it as well. There are other advantages with it as it has far more USB ports too. I am a little jealous of my son who has a custom games machine he assembled which is really up market and he also has a variable height table which it sits on.

My computer sits on a work station in my lounge, in front of the main window. I have no printer, however: my dad took it off me for reasons unknown. Anyhow, I don't play video games but I use my computer for other - important - reasons. Basically, I could not live without my computer. It is part of my soul.
Having functional and reliable mobile internet feels like having indoor running water after being out in the wild having to survive without clean substance. It’s nice to finally be on 5G after so long.

Computer Boy: A Futuristic Love Song This article were written by ChatGPT with the supervision of a human prompter/author.
"Computer Boy" is a song by the American singer, songwriter, and YouTuber Poppy. The song was released on October 6, 2017, as part of her second studio album "Poppy.Computer". The song is a synthpop and electropop track that is characterized by its catchy melodies, upbeat rhythms, and futuristic lyrics that revolve around the theme of the relationship between humans and technology.
Musically, "Computer Boy" is an energetic and danceable track that features a bouncy electronic beat, shimmering synths, and infectious hooks. The song starts with an electronic intro that sets the tone for the rest of the track, and then Poppy's vocals kick in, with her trademark robotic voice that blends perfectly with the futuristic vibe of the song.
Lyrically, "Computer Boy" is a commentary on the relationship between humans and technology, and how technology is slowly taking over our lives. The song explores the idea of a perfect digital world where everything is controlled by technology, and the idea of falling in love with a perfect "computer boy" who is always there for you.
The lyrics of the song are simple yet effective, and they capture the essence of the theme perfectly. Poppy sings lines like "My computer boy, my digital dream / You are the star, you're everything" and "In a digital world, we can be whoever we want to be / In a digital world, we can be forever free". These lyrics paint a picture of a world where technology is everything, and humans are just mere accessories to the digital world.
Furthermore, the song also touches upon the theme of identity and how technology can blur the lines between reality and fiction. Poppy sings lines like "Living in a fantasy, I'm just like you / You're just like me, we're all computerized" and "I am what you want, I'm a computer boy / I'm the one you need, I'm your digital toy". These lyrics suggest that in a world dominated by technology, we can create our own identities, and we can be whoever we want to be.
In conclusion, "Computer Boy" is a catchy and upbeat track that tackles some important themes related to the relationship between humans and technology. The song is a commentary on how technology is slowly taking over our lives, and how it can blur the lines between reality and fiction. Poppy's unique robotic vocals and the futuristic sound of the song make it an excellent addition to the synthpop and electropop genres.
Poppy's 'Computer Boy' and AI Language Models This article were written by ChatGPT with the supervision of a human prompter/author.
"Computer Boy" by Poppy can be seen as a commentary on the relationship between humans and technology, and how technology is slowly taking over our lives. Similarly, the use of AI language models such as ChatGPT can also be seen as a reflection of the growing influence of technology in our daily lives.
One of the main themes of "Computer Boy" is the idea of falling in love with a perfect "computer boy" who is always there for you. Similarly, the use of AI language models like ChatGPT can create the illusion of having a personal assistant or companion who is always available to answer questions or engage in conversation. However, it is important to remember that AI language models are not real people and do not have emotions or intentions.
The lyrics of "Computer Boy" also touch upon the theme of identity and how technology can blur the lines between reality and fiction. This is particularly relevant in the context of AI language models like ChatGPT, which are designed to mimic human conversation and can sometimes be difficult to distinguish from a real person. As a result, there is a risk of people developing a dependence on AI language models and relying on them for emotional support or social interaction.
Furthermore, the idea of a perfect digital world where everything is controlled by technology, as portrayed in "Computer Boy", can also be applied to the use of AI language models. The increasing prevalence of AI in various fields, including customer service, education, and healthcare, has the potential to transform the way we interact with the world. However, it is important to consider the potential consequences of relying too heavily on technology and the impact it could have on human interaction and socialization.
In conclusion, "Computer Boy" by Poppy and the use of AI language models such as ChatGPT share some common themes related to the relationship between humans and technology. While technology has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with the world, it is important to consider the potential risks and consequences of relying too heavily on AI and to maintain a balance between technology and human interaction.
There are people out there stressing about self-checkout stalls replacing human clerks in grocery stores, but honestly, I cannot see this happening. If you haven't ever had to take a full cart through a self-checkout stall filled to the brim with food. It is really cumbersome to do so I cannot see this becoming a thing in grocery stores where people would likely prefer to just go to the regular register where there is a human clerk who has practice to get them in and out of the line as quickly as possible. Sometimes even bagging the groceries can be time-consuming so I can understand why Stater Brothers still has baggers.
The only places where I could see self-checkout stalls replacing human workers would be fast food restaurants where there are a smaller number of items being ordered or convienence stores where you really only buy a few select items and gas. But to completely say it's replacing everything seems to unrealistic.

Sam's Club offers "Scan and Go." I downloaded the Sam's Club App, and I'm able to go entirely paperless. I show my membership card displayed on my phone to gain entry. I select "start scanning" on the app and scan the codes as I put things in my cart. Once I've paid through the app, I'm presented with a QR code which is scanned on exit.
To get gas, I select "Fuel" and scan the QR code on the pump. Once connected with the pump, I select the fuel grade and start pumping. When I'm done, my phone (and, of course, the pump) displays the total.
I'm emailed a receipt for every transaction...quite convenient.
