Weighing in quickly on The Chosen: the director really wanted to make sure he'd be bringing the Jewishness of Jesus to the show. So, although the show doesn't use the Hebrew names for Jesus and his disciples, there are Hebrew prayers and words sprinkled throughout, and at least one actor from Israel. Big thumbs up for me on that score.
I also find it does a great job of giving context for what we'd read in the gospel accounts. There's a multifaith group of consultants for the show, including a Messianic Jewish rabbi. When I've finished a season of the show, I love to hear the director and these consultants talking about choices made for each episode and whether he's done a good job dramatising but staying true to the context.
So I say it's well worth watching! Since Season 4 is a bit delayed for streaming, I think I'll go back and watch from Season 1 again. It's free to watch online (with bonus content too) at watch.thechosen.tv

Anyone else check out X-Men 97? I thought it was a pretty good start. They did a good job of matching it to the original, which I had peeked at recently.
Also watched the beginning of Terra Nova yesterday. I remember liking the series when it aired. Or it started out good, at least - we'll see as it goes on! I like that streaming services have older shows to revisit, especially if I'm not interested in anything new some months... I'm the gal who owns Knight Rider and The A-Team from the 80s, so it isn't just Star Trek that I go back to from previous decades of TV!
And did anyone else love the Monkees TV show? I found it in the 90's, I think, on a Canadian music channel (MuchMusic was our version of MTV). I watched the first two episodes yesterday and thought it was kinda fun. The music is the best part, of course, for a lifelong Monkees fan.

I remember watching that although I am not sure what I would make of it now.
I say that as you prompted me on another program that I watched when I was young, which does seem a little corny now. Some of the music, I liked though and the theme tune is very catchy 60's Psychedelia :
I haven't seen this version before. A bit heavier -

I remember that. I was never convinced that they were really playing their instruments.

Neither was I . I edited my post since you read it to add another version that I had not seen before, which includes their buggies at one point.

I watched the movie “Oppenheimer”. I think the critics liked it but I didn't. Worse, I don’t think I will watch it again. The movie was long, it had to be with so many characters.
Actors Matt Damen and Robert Downey Jr. had some interesting dialogue. The guy who played Oppenheimer was interesting, looks and acting, but not much else.
I think a series or documentary style would have been a much better format, the technology, philosophy of “true progress”, the number of scientists, WWII and the politics are a lot to include.
The American Civil War is complex. But the soap opera, “Gone with the Wind”, was a much better movie than Oppenheimer and included an intermission.
I found a new show to enjoy on Prime: The Baxters. It's based on a book series I own and really enjoyed, by Karen Kingsbury. I was so excited to find it, and I'm about halfway through the first season right now. I'm not sure if they'll work their way through the other book series she did with many of the same characters involved, but I'm game!
We watched Killer Sally and Can I Tell You a Secret (this one had a lot of funny sounding voices in it, which took away from what is supposed to be a scary experience for these women).
We also finished the new live-action Avatar.. it was cute.
I wateched One Love , the Bob Marely film yesterday. I wouldnt say its a masterpiece of movie making but I love the music so I enjoyed it but most people will need to tune their ear there are some thick accents and a lot of speak of I&I , Rastafari and Babylon in the text.

It is a film I will definitely watch. I do love Bob Marley's music: he'd been a legend.
He is a legend. My children grew up calling reggae music 'happy music' they would say 'mama put the happy music on' and then bounce around with joy. None of them were born when Bob lived but they all knew who he was..

Being a bit of a rocker, I never took to Bob Marley really.

I don't follow celebrities so maybe this post isn't totally accurate but it seems the actress Molly Ringwald suggested the 80's movie "The Breakfast Club" is too "white" for a reboot.
Uh, who's asking for a reboot exactly? I'm not.
Why does everything have to be re-assessed these days to fit with our "superior" sensibilities?

I try not to listen to celebs, they are, mostly, not very clever, and tend to be out of touch with those of us who pay their wages.
