I watched a Maigret on Talking Pictures TV last night. It was old and in French with subtitles but was interesting as it was a story I have read fairly recently and has not been re-done in recent years, as far as I know.
We started watching Star Trek: Beyond yesterday. We hadn't done so together yet, but saw a better rating on the package than it says when you start the movie. Hopefully the language won't be too often or jarring and everyone will just enjoy a good Trek adventure. It's sometimes hard finding something everyone is interested in that is also not too scary or nasty for language. (So not ready for my kids to be copying what's commonly said on TV and in movies!)
I have a stack of things either started (on my own) or plan to start soon, including Miss Fisher's Mysteries (okay), Dark Crystal (intriguing!), The Equalizer (whoa, violent! - may need the old TV show instead...) and a lot of Trek!
There is a new film being shown in cinemas here in Britain: Barbie! The characters are real actors. I may well watch it! It seems a lot of fun.
From the trailer it looks a bit like a hen party on acid without the rude bits lol. A bit like candy floss. A little is divine but an entire film? We will see
Oh my... I don't even think my 13-year-old granddaughter would watch that. If you want to torture me put me in a room and prop my eyeballs open so that I have to watch it..
I saw a preview for it the other day and I thought it was quite bizarre. I wouldn't even let my old Barbie, yes my first one I still have, even watch it... lol...

I really enjoyed The Mandalorian last week, and then was super excited because I loved the ending of Star Trek: Picard as well. I watched the series finale of Picard twice, then started that season again to be able to pick up the clues that were sprinkled throughout. It was well done. Eventually, I'll go back to finishing the last season of the original Star Trek series, then I have ST Enterprise to finish as well. (I'm on Season 3 of 4 for that one.) There's always lots of Trek options here!
Also thinking about catching up on some Ahsoka episodes on Disney+ (since there's a collection already put together there) before the new show in the summer. Star Wars isn't as great to me as Star Trek, but I get excited about it now and then.
I saw an ad for the True Lies TV show, and just thought, "Why not watch the original movie instead?" Methinks that many studios/networks are running out of good show ideas, and their remakes usually don't do a great job...

I was wondering how that would be as a TV show. The plot was good for a movie, but how many hi-jinks can they really get into without it making him appear to be so incompetent because his wife is always in danger? I'm guessing it has to be a limited series lol
