I thought it was a believable ending. My only criticism of the ending was a weeny one, and that was the reaction of the waitress. That was not very impressive, but she had a very small and not very important part.
Believable? Hm... not entirely to me lol SPOILERS only because of the chances of ending up at that house in particular; it was the first house she came across, and she randomly crashes near them? That was just "out-there" for me. Their reactions were somewhat believable to me, though, especially knowing that the father has a somewhat shady background (convict, anger issues, alcoholic). And well, of course parents will side with their children a majority of the time, and Jenny had nobody there to defend her and make them be reasonable. Why should they believe her? All they know is she is some psycho who stabbed a kid and stole a car of another one of the kids, and then crashed the car near the house. Then there is about 4 kids versus one woman.
Another issue I had was when Steve told Jenny to go get help, and she just fell asleep in the woods? I was pretty shocked when the next thing I knew it was morning, and she was still not far from the crash; she was just huddled in her hiding place HOURS later (unless that was not intended, and they forgot they were filming at night in the scene right before it?). That was kind of odd, no? Then she connects to a phone on the bad guy via bluetooth to try to call the police; I mean, she already knew he had Steve's phone.... lol it was just back to back facepalm.
Another weird thing was when Steve was just walking around in the house. Who does that?? lol you knock on the door, and wait for a parent to answer, no? That was just unusual behavior to me. He could have gotten himself killed by someone thinking he was a burglar, you just never know, so I felt that was a risky, dumb move.
But yeah... I guess all those things were in there to add "suspense", but it added "stupidity" for me ;-) It still didn't ruin the movie too much for me, though. I thought the acting was pretty well done, which is sometimes hard to find in horror films, and as a whole I did like it.

Steve walking around the house was odd, even I noticed that one. It also added nothing to the plot. I accept he might have opened the door, and stepped inside of the hall to shout, but after that? There is no way he would have gone upstairs.
I don't have a problem with some coincidences, like the crash. The bluetooth likewise, as that was her only option to try.
You get as involved in deep analysis as my SO.
That may have been an insult, I haven't fully decided yet.

There were more coincidences than just the crash; the kids were always just around the corner everywhere.. in this giant forest. How did they even find Steve again (the time he was under all the leaves/branches)? Why would the kids go back to the same spot after determining Steve and Jenny had left? lol he probably would have never been found, realistically. Not that it matters because he died regardless, but still. Too many coincidences with the kids finding them all the time, but that is just how horror films seem to play out anyway lol bad guys always find you no matter what, so that is why I don't hold it against the movie.
I'm analytical about everything =p It's a good thing (usually) ;-) Did your SO say anything similar about this movie? lol

YES! That was Caddyshack. You had to like that one, Cher. He was the groundskeeper at a golf-course and was attempting to rid the course of gophers, but an attendant there (with a Scottish accent) said that if he got rid of all the "goffers" there would be nobody to play there.

OK, you all know by now that I'm a huge Bill Murray fan Pris, in "What about Bob?", do you remember him on a sailboat yelling "I'm sailing! I'm a sailor!"? I have to think of a war movie that I liked, so I'll get back to you on that.

That's an easy one. War Horse was a really good film.
Enemy at the Gates was also good. Really fascinating.

Patton was a cool movie, and I believe that George C. Scott portrayed Patton. Another was "The Longest Day", based on the D-Day invasion that started in Normandy.
I haven't seen Fifty Shades of Grey... I also did not read the books. If I had to choose, then I'd watch the movies because it would go by faster than reading the books lol but I mean... what is it even really about? It's just a messed up romance novel? The people have emotional issues, which causes relationship and sexual situations that are not the norm, and that's all?

Has Anyone ever seen a movie where a side-story is actually more interesting than the main actor's storyline?
I watched "The Remains of the Day" and actually found the lord of the manor house's being deceived by the Nazi's to be more interesting than the main characters, the house keeper and butlers' relationship. To me that was the greater tragedy but wasn't really developed.
But then maybe I'm just dim and didn't get the authors intent.
UGH... that ending. SPOILER.... Worst Proposal Story EVER.
Hostel is pretty gory, but I think if you can withstand the gore in Eden Lake, then you should be fine. You might cover your eyes here and there, depending on which body part is the focus.. lol I think it's worth it for the ending, sort of similar to Eden Lake, minus that very very very end... ahem... lol
My god, that was far gorier than Eden Lake. That was horrible. I watched it on the laptop and had my finger hovering over the silent button and I skipped a few scenes.
