No way, you really didn't know who Pablo Escobar was... I'm shocked.
In 1986 the World Cup was supposed to be in Columbia. FIFA were having problems with the construction of stadiums (behind schedule etc...).
Pablo offered to pay all the costs!
At which point Fifa got scared and with less than two years to go till the World descended upon Columbia. They pulled it and quickly moved it to Mexico (the 2nd time they have hosted the finals).
However, the best uk political series was undoubtedly A Very British Coup. It is a the story of an left wing government, taking on the right wing establishment aka the civil service and the british institutional way of life and the tradition of class.

We have a political comedy over here, too, but I actually haven't watched it yet lol haven't gotten around to watching so many shows!
Veep is the name. You might get to it before me lol so if you do, then you can let me know how it is =p Now I am adding a bunch of shows to my list of things to watch!
I kept wondering where I recognized Brendan Gleeson from... I still am not entirely sure lol it might have been from Lake Placid, but that was forever ago. I also watched Troy, which he was in, but no way I recognized him there!

Yep loved Paul too.. I thought Simon Pegg also bought humour to Star Trek as scotty.. TOS had humour but much of that was lost along the route with TNG DS9 and voyager..
HAHA four lions, classic. i love this film so much!! some of my fave quotes from it; Rubber dingy rapids, Bro! I'm not confused brother! I just took picture of my face, and it's deffo not my confused face. They'll stuff you full of viagra and make u f**k a dog! U will end up on YouTube blowing lassie in a ditch! This weekend DH took me to the cinema to watch "Crimson Peak". I actually don't like horrors, but this movie's trailer was really interesting and promising, so I thought I'd like to watch it and I was right. It's really well filmed, amazing costumes, great story and what I liked the most it wasn't too scary, just few moment, almost all of which were included to the official trailer. Won't tell anything else not to make spoiler, the only thing I think I should also add is that I wasn't so impressed by the movie since Interstellar, even though they are completely different with "Crimson Peak".
Watched, "The General" last night. Well acted, but I didn't enjoy the film. He was a leech on society and utterly lacking in empathy. Fancy stealing that little boys train when he was "earning" plenty stealing the parents valuables.
I did try Four Lions, but I gave up after 20 minutes, just not my cup of tea.

Cher, sometimes you are a true actor if you deal with the character that you are portraying without going over the top. Others, like Arnold and Sir Sean have an immediate recognition level. Understated can be very good.

For the Simon Pegg fans, check out Hector and the Search for Happiness - a film I feel is truly brilliant and under appreciated. Not as funny as Shawn of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, but still clearly Pegg, and a feel-good film too.

Simon Peggs was also great in the tv series Spaced.

Quentin Crisp would probably describe himself as a natural disaster, but I am a big fan of his.
He actually did describe himself as "A stately homo of England!"
Anyway, enough of that and on with the show. This is his story of coming out to the world, and the hardships he endured. It can be hard viewing, but it is a real testimony to a man overcoming prejudice, and winning through in the end.
"A Naked Civil Servant"
Either download it, or watch it here in eight parts.
Started watching Orange Is The New Black again! Finally got my boyfriend to watch it with me (I waited two years to continue watching it because I wanted him to watch it, too). It definitely gets better after a while. Some episodes are a bit dull, but then it kicks back up.
