It's probably true to say the more you have the more you worry when it starts going? At least when you are on the breadline you likely have a better idea of how to survive below it.
It's interesting to note though that some who crash from prosperity still manage to pick themselves up and make their money: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Ratner
for me it is: drinking a cup of coffee in silence and alone eating a small sandwich with cucumber a little bit of sewing a little bit of dancing and a small chapter to be read

This is self care to me:
1. Having a shower every morning 2. Reading library books regularly 3. Avoiding horror films/sticking to happy films 4. Stayng sane in real life 5. Always being nice to myself 6. Listening to music 7. Keeping my apartment clean & tidy 8. Eating regularly 9. Having a lot of sleep
There are others, but these are the main ways I manage self-care.

Letting go of the past can be incredibly difficult. But it can be done! But supressing a grudge does not heal that grudge: it has to be exorcised through living life. And sometimes a jolt in life releases the grudge and helps us heal the pain.

I'm not keen on fruit: don't get me wrong, I LOVE apple pies, fruit pies, crumble and fruit flavoured drinks. I just cannot stand raw fruit. I used to grin and eat it, but I don't force myself anymore. I love fruit desserts and drinks, rather than raw fruit. I won't touch apples: they taste too bitter and are too hard to eat.

I am the opposite. Last evening for supper, for instance, I had a kiwi fruit, banana, cherries, blueberries and grapes (and a couple of mushrooms for good measure lol). A couple of slices of buttered fruit loaf too.
It is a poor week if we don't have at least half a dozen types of fruit and a similar variation of vegetables in.
Look at the variation in apples. There are so many different varieties from hard to soft and sour to very sweet. You can keep them until the soften and they can be peeled if it is the skin you don't like.

Now I'm curious which apples you are eating... I'm not familiar with any really bitter apples!? lol some are a little sour, but you can get really sweet varieties.. I go for the sweeter ones myself.

I've always bought Galas for eating raw, as I like the crunch with the sweet. Lately, I've bought Honeycrisps as well. I've never liked Red Delicious due to their mealy texture and bitter skin. I also buy Fuji and Granny Smith for baking, as they hold up pretty well.

That's a good list. It doesn't include Cox's which, in my opinion, is one of the best if not the best: www.gardenfocused.co.uk/fruitarticles/apples/variety-coxs-orange-pippin.php . Maybe they are little grown in the US. I prefer these or Granny Smiths for eating. For cooking very sour cooking apples are normally used.
That said, I mostly eat the apples my tree produces. These are not a defined variety.
When I lived in New Hampshire I had apple trees all over my yard. I used to bake pies all the time durning the season but now that I am in Florida I very rarely make an apple pie. I really miss the smell of them in the oven and the taste of a good pie. The apples you buy here always seem to be lacking.

We have a Newtown Pippin.. but can't find it because it's not as commonly grown these days. My SO has been wanting to try it lol
