Hobbits?

There are several schools of thought on the split at the time we became the homo sapian.There is supporting evidence for other types of hominds lving at the time of the split or development (depending on your way of thinking).

I think this might just be an as yet unknown type or it could be a gentic mutation, Im not sure I go along with the dwindling food theory simply because it takes so long for our reproductive cycle most things would have run out before the first generation even reached maturity let alone bred for several generations to include such a drastic change!
