We may need that planet. As I understand it, the nearest galaxy Andromeda is on a collision course with our galaxy the Milky Way. It arrives in about 3-billion years. Doubtful our solar system survives, the radiation alone. Bummer.
It also appears that there is a black hole at the center of every galaxy. Apparently black holes, while ultimately destructive, do play a role in the formation of stars and galaxies. Thank God.
