RIP You looked so boring just a plain white box thing standing in the corner of the utility, you didnt make much noise or need much attention we just chucked dirty clothes in walked away and waited for you to do your job.. Then yesterday you gave a final bleep and a whir and were gone, destined for the great metal scrap heap..
yep its gone its spun its last load of dirty clothes and given up the ghost..
I cant complain its done more washing in the past 18 years than most washers ever do it used to run every day and sometimes 2 or 3 times a day .. Son1 worked as a car mechanic and washed his greasy overals, son 2 was a chef and washed his kitchen whites, my OH bought home his greasy stuff too and then there was the normal washing of a family of 5 to contend with..
The problem is electrical (printed circuit board) so fixing it is not an option. Its a miele (german make) top loader which are not so popular anymore but I find them so much better than the front loaders less bending over and a better spin cycle.
A new one is expensive about £1,000 but I cant say Im in any doubt and so Ive ordered another Miele ..( got a bargain because they had one with French display so it was cheaper)
Ive worked it out and if the average life of a machine is 5 years and the average price £350 I would have used 3 machines and been on a fourth by now meaning the overal cost would be much higher.
This machine is also an A+++ so cheap to run using less water and less power but really quiet so even if I run it at night it wont disturb anyone.
Even so Im a bit sad its broken. Its always a bit of a jolt when things break and you realise how old they are isnt it?
Well the new washer arrived and took up the space left by the old one... Although nearly 20 years newer the only difference was a slight change in the display. Plus of course the fact that new means gleaming white and I think its new flashy exterior must have made the fridge jealous because it got all hot under the motor and died yesterday afternoon..
Luckily we have another fridge in the garage that OH normally keeps his beer in so for the time being Im using that.
Haha, there are a lot of movies on Youtube!! I don't know what Life of Christ is =p But I'm sure I'd like any spoof on religion. I mean.. Space Balls was my favorite movie.. a spoof on Star Wars (which I don't like) ;-)
I do remember you showing me the funny scene with the women throwing stones!

I watched it again last night, it is still really funny, even though I know all the lines. But even last night, after watching it a hundred times, I still spotted little bits I hadn't before.
