can you believe, Malakai, who is 18 month old, counted to five the other day.
i do count to him, but not in a way to teach him. i know it was probably a one off so please dont burst my bubble, but i was so proud..
he was in his pram supposed to be napping whilst i cleaned, i heard him say 'one.. two.. three' then he stopped so i added 'four' and he went 'fiiiveee'

he does say 'ready, steady, goooo' and does sometimes say 'one two three' but with counting i always thought it just sounded like it, i think i may just have a clever little boy

hes actually quite clever with his speach, or i just wear rose tinted glasses haha!!
he can say 3-4 word sentences, like 'where is it? there it is' he can say Precious & Bentley (my dogs name) and often calls me Callie (more just sounds like it) he says ready, steady, go too. but i often feel, he can talk better than he understands, idk why?
if i ask him to take his shoes off, he will sit down and talk them off, if i ask where they are he will find them and bring them to me, if he cant find them he brings OH over haha. he knows to point to the sink or the stairs if i ask him if hes getting a bath, but things like if i was to say 'finish playing now we are going inside' he wouldnt have a clue what im on about haha

Callie, keep doing your best to teach him, but it is very important that YOU don't get hung up about it either way.

Honestly, it is too young to tell how clever he is, some kids are early learners, some are later, but they will all get there sooner or later.

I often think of my best friends son. At only two, he had amazing rhythm, and could move to the beat of different music quite effortlessly, he was going to become a top, top dancer.

At 16, I saw him at the school disco, he was doing the same moves.

Hes defo a bit of both Cher, he was slow at rolling over (finally did it at 8month) slow crawler (around the same) and didnt walk until after his 1st birthday, hes so slow with potty training, i think hes gona be a 3 year old in a nappy still! but his speech is pretty impressive but his understanding can be up or down.

bc they thought my vocab was too low.

They soo regret it now.

One time my dad took me on a road trip and explained how to read
the road signs, what they meant, etc.
You know like Curve Ahead, Speed Limit, etc.

So later that year my mom took me to Washington in the car.
Evidently I read every single sign for like 6 hours.
She screamed at my dad over her cell phone for teaching me that.

This story surfaces at every single family get together,
and my mom just stomps off about it.

you have to hear the way he says it, ill try video it one time.
he also keeps calling up baby, because thats what we call him, he thinks its a name maybe?
he will go 'mama, mama, baby, baby mama, mama baby' (or daddy which ever)

and people also think its so strange how he calls me MUM not mama, mummy or anything, mainly just mum, although this is what ive always called my mum, i dont think i like being called it!

his new fave words are baby or doggy/dogga
he will point to a bird, sat, goat and call it a dogga, he will see a baby, or even a child older and point calling her/him 'baby'
