ive only been scammed havent i!! im so thick, like why would i even do what i did..
i was contacted by a friend on facebook, asked if i had pay pal to do him a favour, the favour was to receive money in my pay pal then put t in my bank and transfer it over to them, turns out my friend was hacked, stupid me did it anyway.. the money that was going into my bank was being stolen from other people going into my pay pal, then it was going in my bank and the money was then transferred!
the guy whos facebook was hacked has helped me out alot, hes found a IP address linking to the computer that was used to hack his fb, that then pointed to an address, ive blocked all my bank, told the action fraud team but im having people contact me bcos 'i have took their money' obv i personally havent, but thats the way it seems, and because they used a app to take over my computer, all this actually was done over my computer so it looks like it was me. £300 all together and i have a funny feeling i will be liable to pay it back..
i just feel sick, every time i talk about it i cry. i think my money is safe but my pay pal is in -£170 which im thinking ill have to pay back, even though the money is not in my hands, but because it was all done using my bank and my pay pal, they are just gona say 'your stupid enough, your liable'
i havent eaten, havent slept i just keep crying!!

How did they use something to take over your computer? Did you install/download anything? If not then they did not do it on your computer directly. You can have your friend vouch for you, surely? He was the one who was originally phished, and now you were also phished. I would imagine the authorities are aware of such a scam, so I don't think you would have to be liable.
Try your best to stay calm!! It can happen to anyone! Just be more careful in the future, and be sure to contact your friends via the phone or something to confirm any requests received online.

Callie, a few years ago I had a message on my computer that said that I had a virus, but they could take care of that for me. At the time I didn't have an anti-virus thing, so I contacted Stopzilla. They said that the message was actually a Russian virus. Stopzilla told me that they would get rid of the virus for $50 and for an additional $100 I would be covered for the life of my computer. I'm so glad that I did that! We all have to be careful, Internetally speaking!
Callie, we have all been caught out at some time or another. Your sounds rather expensive, but it does not mean you are any less for it than someone who has been cheated out of 50p.
You have to put this behind you, for what it is. The bank are the best to advise on your liabilities, give them a ring and ask them.
i already had something on my computer called Team viewer, i connected via that and then whenever i put any details in i turned it off, little did i know they was using another one without me knowing, i mean they dont know any of my details although they could have had software to unscramble passwords which is possible thats why i have closed my internet banking, closed my bank awaiting new card and i am going to open up a new account all together.
i was telling my boss and he said yes it may look like ive done it myself bcos it was my computer, my pay pal and my bank but i was a victim too, i just cant believe i didnt see it. looking back now i think you stupid idiot! thats a big red card there when they ask to connect to your computer but i also did right in closing it off but as i say i didnt know they was still connected using some other software!
i just need my new bank card to come so that i can then open a new account, once i have a new account i will feel better i will put my trust in the police and just hope im not going to be liable for this money that was stolen from these poor people, but i also have to be selfish and think, 3 people may have had £100 each stolen from them, but im the one with the £300 bill on my pay pal, im as much a victim too

coming up to a week since now and im still as panicky as i was before! my new card has come but awaiting new pin, im still worried something could happen with my bank or money, my boss thinks nothing else will happen now, after a week of maybe trying and failing they will have their next victim and wont bother with me now knowing i know how to avoid anything happening to my money. still ill always be ultra precautious now i think

I received a phone call on Friday from a guy with an Indian accent(I know the accent), informing me that my computer was infected. I responded by saying to him that Stopzilla does a total scan on my computer twice a month and removes the threats. I put up with him a bit longer and then said that perhaps I wouldn't buy a new computer so that he wouldn't have to annoy me anymore with his messages. Mysteriously, the line went dead.

you know im usually quite careful, if i get a email from a company or it looks iffy, i will ignore it or report it, a while back i was getting emails from 'paypal' asking me to click a link to recover my password as it had been used by a 3rd party, the first reason i ignored it was bcos i read this email like a week after it had been sent, secondly bcos i had used my pay pal the night before so i knew it was working, but then about 14 days after the first email (whick said they would be in touch in 14 days) i got another one, i actually thought it may have been genuine seen as they did email me 14 days later like they said, but i decided to call them, it defo wasnt them, the way to know, when they start the email they say 'Hi.. and your full name, not Hi, customer, like the one i had..
anytime anyone would ask me for any details i wouldnt give them out, i never even make payments for my broadband for example because i dont trust the person on the phone, i always make payments online but on this occasion.. bamm!!

I'm now wondering.. My pay pal I in minus because of this scam there is a police investigation to solve this. I have a new bank card, one not registered with pay pal, can I just make a new account now?

I got the same email from PayPal and didn't even have an account there.
I hear they get hacked a lot.
BTW, just a little off topic, but that Lifelock thing, where you pay to protect your personal information, has been indicted, and fined millions for not doing exactly what they promised they would. RIPOFF!
