i was wastching something on tv, there was a old guy who lost his wife a while back, he was so thrilled that someone he doesnt know spoke to him while they were on the bus, i then realised, how little do people actually stop to ask someone how they are, whether its on a bus, waiting for a bus, sat on a bench or in a cafe? when i saw it and actually thought about it, i see old people all the time, and some do genuinley look down and alone, just 2 mins of your time would make them feel so much better, besides older people are always funny IMO

I admit if I see a cutie or a couple of cuties I will usually say hi or that sort of thing. On the train I talk to the people next to me all the time. Also anyone I think looks interesting I will say hi. I tend to talk to the elderly a lot for some reason.
However, if I see anyone who looks lost or is some type of distress I will always ask if they need help. (I try to be all tough IRL but I am VERY soft hearted)

Very cool, Auttie. I talk to strangers a bunch, even if it's just to say Hi. I always open a door for someone that's behind me going into a store, and when they thank me, it just reinforces my belief that Niceness rules!

Now we have to contact an Aura Consultant! And Heather, I don't do that much weed either, but when I do, it tends to mellow me out. I'm not surprised that you support legalization (as I do) because legalization just makes so much common f'ing sense!

I am very shy, so I am too scared to start a conversation with strangers, but a lot of them will start conversations with me. People say I seem like a nice person when they first meet me, so I guess that's why I seem approachable to people.
It sounds as if you probably have a warm and friendly body language.
I have always attracted little old ladies to speak to me, at least now I can see why. I used to worry about it when I was a teenager, and little old ladies were not at all cool. LOL

LOL. For some reason when I was a teenager, I had a bunch of "little old ladies" as friends. I also read a lot of books back then, so I seemed boring to a lot of people my age, I guess.
Looking back I can now see that possibly they were lonely. Most old people are old, but some have a very young outlook on life, and they don't enjoy hanging out with those who are genuinely old.
Unfortunately, the young take one look at them and dismiss them. Except perhaps a few like you, HappyHousewife.

Yea, it just makes me sad when I think about the ones I was friends with as a teenager though. T_T Most of them are dead now, I went to their funerals. I get sad that I can't talk to them anymore.
And that's why I sympathize with them a lot. Even if they do become friends with other older people, so many older people die, so all your friends are dying all the time. Sounds so horrible.
