Fathers Day

My dad was not that bothered about it. If I remember, I will miss him.

He died a long time ago though. Must be about 26 years ago I think.

As we got on so badly when I was a child, I am pleased that we were friends by the time he went.

Of course if he passed away 26 years ago,.,.,.,.,.,., fetching out my calculator, I can see that on my next birthday I shall be 4.

A simple phone call can mean alot.

im not doing anything with my pops, i wish i could but i just cant afford to, im struggling for my OH!
when i lived at home for both mothers & fathers day we would all go for a meal, but even still the parents paid, when i can afford to i will make it up to them.

the reason im ddoing nothing for my dad is because he is doing the three peaks (climbing and walking across 3 mountains) so he will more than likely be hungover sunday.. again we will spend the day at home, then probably go see my pops for a few hours, as bad as it sounds, its not just about my dad anymore, its also for my OH..

related question, do any of you celebrate mothers/fathers day with grandparents??

Well, OH went to this car show thing which was his fathers day present as he didnt get one (the xbox game he wants isnt out yet) so he went there at about 11-2 while he was out i went to my uncles with my dad to see my grandad (dads dad) then got home and cooked a nice beef roast

what are all of your views on cards for mum on fathers day? i duno if you have them in the US but i saw a card that said 'to my wonderful mum on fathers day'
i mean i have all respect for single mums, i take my hat off to them i really do, but we have mothers day, why not celebrate your single mum on mothers day, not both days? i dont know if im missing a point here, but i just dont get it.

i also dont see fair that on mothers day they dont have 'to my dad on mothers day' bcos dads can be single parents too, for many reasons.

I don't feel like single moms should be celebrated on Father's Day.. there is already a Mother's Day, so why do they need two days? Even if you cover both roles, you are still their mother =p
