Depends what you mean by 'comparable'?

If you mean can each system read files made & saved by the other. Then these days normally they can (but they may open in a third party application).

I'll prefer Portable Document Folder.

They were originally mostly for gov agencies, allowing for certain fields to be locked, and unalterable.

However, they have now flourished into the business world.

I have no idea why?

It can help a bit if you disable some programs on startup, but it's most likely not the only "issue" =p

Keep the antivirus software up to date, and keep your firewall on.

Do not download or install anything from sites you cannot trust... that is the biggest issue most people have. Even if the site says you HAVE to install something... if you do not know/trust the site.. then don't do it.

I would certainly look to your startup menu first. There will be tutorials for that on youtube.

Then download this cleaner and run it weekly. It is free.

ashampoo-winoptimizer.en.softonic.com/download

Also go to your programs folder, you have probably downloaded extras, they are often bundled in with ones that you do want.

These will need uninstalling.

Open Office is free. I understand it opens all the MS Office documents too.

Check out your programs and make sure you have not got two anti viruses running. You often get free versions of McAfee slipped in when you dl stuff.

Still get sidebars in mail, but Yahoo allows those anyway. I don't use Adaware anymore bc it conflicts with my Malwarebytes. Mal is awesome anti virus which is what I want most.
