It is great if you really have lost the habit of bad eating, and sometimes that is all it is.
I always look at the pork crackling with some lust, after giving it up many years ago. But at least once a year, I cannot help it and I find a particularly crunchy piece and excitedly stick it in my mouth.
2 or 3 chews later and I spit it out. The stuff is disgusting. I am sure it was an acquired taste, when we saw our parents enjoying it, we did too. Cake icing is the same. It is way sickly sweet, and almost inedible.
Good for you Stevie, the longer you can do it for, the easier it will get.
Cherry, are you eating dry chicken breast? =p That happens to me a bit if my chicken is on the dry side, then I need a lot of sauce to help. I personally like dark meat better, but the boyfriend enjoys white meat.
I eat all meat. I'm an "omnomnomnivore" lol however, I do not eat red meat often, maybe a couple of times a month, if that. Some months I don't even eat it.
I haven't heard the term "blue steak" before. I like medium rare or medium. I love red meat, it's just too expensive =p I only eat organic or natural meats, and chicken is more affordable.

I know exactly what Cher is talking about! I used to eat steak and loved it medium rare to rare. What she is talking about is the steak being grilled in a way that when it gets semi-charred on the top it's flipped over for the other side. It's well-done outside, but juicy and tender on the inside. Is that right, Cher?
It is so under cooked that when it hits your plate it is cold to the touch. Heather is closer to the truth. My SO who "cooks" it prefer not to look as I eat it.
For a long time she would always give me plum tomatoes with it, to hide the blood.
Seriously, it is literally: slap, turn, slap, serve. The entire cooking process is about 5 seconds.

I'm glad you see it as a lifestyle change and not a diet. Diets always fail because they are too extreme to keep up with for your entire life.
I used to eat SO BAD. 2 liters of coke a day and I would eat a bag of chips all in one sitting once a week, and I have have McDonald's or Wendy's 2-3 times a week and a bagel for breakfast every day.
Of course I started packing on the pounds.
I gotta say the only time i every dramatically lost weight (30 pounds) was when I changed my eating habits. Fast food only once a week to start, and I stopped keeping coke in my house so I had to leave if I wanted some.
I go to the gym now, run and do cardio classes. They have definitely toned me up, but if I hadn't changed my diet, I would definitely not be as small as I am.

Diets are fads. Being vegan is not a diet, it is a way of living. It's not some popular celebrity scheme or anything like that. I think Vegans are great. It's a good way to live. With the people I know that do it, they have had plenty of things clear up from super bad acne no one could do anything about, to digestion problems.
Soda is the worse. It retains water from the high sodium content, and all those awesome bubblies just make you bloat. Ew. It's great you kicked them out of your house. That was a really hard step for me once upon a time! My weakness has always been Vanilla Coke.
Good for you, though! Keep on keeping on. We will support you should you have any withdraws (if you even do)!

Hey stevie...I am so happy to hear this..my mantra is food is like the gas in your car....you put shit petrol in your car...it doesn't work and has issues... ..why put shit petrol i.e. food into your body??
I like this one. It is from Cancer Research UK. No skin in the game to sell products, diets, etc.
"People with cancer may try complementary or alternative therapies to try to help with nutritional problems. Some of these are very safe, work well and can be used in combination with standard treatments".
"But some unproven alternative diets may not be safe and may actually make things worse. Some alternative therapists may claim to be able to cure your cancer or its symptoms with their treatments, even if conventional medical treatments have not been successful. Reputable therapists won't make these claims".
"Like most people who work in cancer care, we know that people can find complementary therapies helpful. These are therapies that can be used alongside conventional medical treatment. Many people benefit from these by having a bit of 'me' time and improving their sense of wellbeing and ability to cope with their situation".
So in essence they make no "cancer free" or "cure"claims.
We are not free from cancer.
We now know there are far more C markers then we thought just a few years ago.
Whether or not diets alone actually "cause" cancer remains unknown.
Why obesity encourages certain cancers remains a mystery.
Many carcinogens are identified, including solar radiation.
Yet melanomas appear virtually all over the body including areas hardly ever exposed to sunlight.
What we now know, there is far, far more that we don't know.
So I remain very suspicious of all these dietary claims of "cures".
I do believe diet can offer some prevention.
And I do respect your level of education that far exceeds mine Cher.
So, I've got some catching up to do.

id be buggered if i got a health problem meaning i should eat healthy, my life expectancy would be lowered a considerate amount. I plead guilty to shitty eating!! infact, i had a take away last night, and for the second day in a row ive had a hot sandwich from the cafe near me.. i dont think ive eaten any veggies this week either, well i had a chicken burger that had lettuce on it??
When life hands you lemons, make grape juice then sit back and watch as the world wonders how you did it.
Cleaning and scrubbing can wait ‘til tomorrow For babies grow up we've learnt to our sorrow, So quiet down cobwebs Dust go to sleep I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep
