I don't have that kind of luck either. With me I would be picking the right numbers and I would make a mistake and pick the losing ones lol.
My dad won a prize on the pools. It was in the days when you got a postal order, it's like a bankers cheque.
They were that chuffed, they put it on the fireplace mantle piece. My older brother who was only little ran past, and it blew into the fire.
He also won a lot more years later. The equivalent of about £30,000. In the pools, you made 8 guesses on the football results. The prize for all 8 was about the equivalent of a million £s. He got 7 right.
But, and there was always a but for my dad, he had only filled in 7 guesses, so they told him his entry was invalid.
I was brought up not to gamble so I seldom do. I just presume (realistically) that it is just for fun and entertainment. As far as I know no-one in the close family does except for my stepson who does the lottery. I remember the pools but don't remember hearing about anyone local who won although I presume some did.

I have dabbled in gambling: I play the Postcode Lottery. But that's where it ends. It isn't free money and I have serious doubts I'll ever win anything except the odd £20. It just won't happen.
It's sad but I have to have the right job if I want more money. Gambling will just get me into debt. My dad said this: and he's right. Still, I have hopes of winning the National Lottery: that is if I ever bought a ticket.

Gambling is a problematic way to make money: because you mostly lose. This means risking getting into £1000's of debt. I don't like owing people money, so this puts me right off. But - in all honesty - it would be nice to win the lottery. But mostly everyone would be happy if they did. Still, I don't play the National Lottery. I've tried scratchcards in the past: it was too difficult to claim any money and even then you'd only win £5 or £10. And you'd ALWAYS have near misses: you scratch off two symbols but the third wouldn't match. So the scratchcard addict buys another one: and another one. It becomes an addiction for money that is never won. Hence why I don't use them.
I tell you my dogs are having nightmares .... First there was a very suspect red moon and this morning its like invasion of the body snatchers They came across this in the woods ,,, Its enough to scare the tail off any canine!
