We call them tossers in teslas. The idiots that speed around town in their electric vehicles. These cars are not an answer to the world's pollution problems they are a rich man's toy. We mustn't ask how the lithium for the batteries is acquired we mustnt ask how the electricity to power them is generated,, non-polluting what a joke.. The hatred for the smug electric vehicle drivers is growing and not just in Germany.
Even though we have two at home, I agree with you Cassie. They are my hubby's toys. I think at least 70% of the people in this valley must have at least one EV. I rarely drive them.

I just wonder locally how many people will find themselves out of power in the middle of nowhere lol. Lincolnshire is rather rural with few charging points or large towns. My current car has a reduced range of around 400 miles unlike my previous which was around 100 miles more and I do notice the difference so the up to 200 for a pure electric? (example as they vary). I drive a hybrid so electricity generation is not an issue. As I did just a bit less than 200,000 miles in my previous car (another hybrid) I think the battery production is not really an issue as it did this on the original battery so miles per pollution was probably great. One point that I read recently is that these electric cars have longer life than previous petrol vehicles so comparison regarding pollution is probably tricky. As a rough comparison my previous hybrid had similar performance to my last pure petrol car. The petrol car did around 35mpg and the hybrid around 60mpg so do the maths over say 100,000 miles?
I am not aware of any negativety locally but I can see that tempers will be inflamed if big incentives are given to electric and heavy taxes on petrol or diesel. I have noticed a bit of a backlash against moves on diesel cars nationally.
Whilst on the subject of Teslas, my own opinion is that the biggest danger with these is the driverless control. They apparently use lane control but I have my lane warning permanently turned off as it drives me mad as I swerve about avoiding the proliferation of potholes. On a back road it is often not reliable anyway. As they are soon to aprove this for use on motorways here (some?) I can see it being a good reason to avoid them. A good reason for living where I do, miles away from any motorway. They almost appear to be brushing over the fact that people have been killed when they fail.
She will always be second best. Even though this is an arranged marriage she will likely be held up as a second rate version of her sister whenever her spouse is unhappy with her.

I read somewhere that the asian arranged marriages have the same success rate as those who pick their own spouses.

I wonder if it's because so many people jump into marriage soon after meeting people lol then it's not much different than an arranged marriage based on what appears to be a good match on the surface before anyone can truly get to know one another.

I was pleased that my kids decided to live together first.
Florida again. Everyone can carry a gun here in Florida. All it takes is a license which you apply for at the town hall and in a few weeks if you pass the background check you will get it in the mail. I would honestly say that over a quarter of the people you walk by here in Florida is carrying a gun.
