I used to be able to balance my checkbook to the penny every month. Now between tips, bank fees and careless book keeping my checkbook balance is a total shit show.
I did it today and came out $200 and some $'s long. How you ask? Not a clue. I'm sitting there looking at the statement and thinking WTF?

Dang! I wonder what expenses snuck up on you there.
Just the other day I forgot I was still making payments on something, and I was like, "wtf is this $79.99 charge!?" I almost thought someone got my credit card number again lol but no... was a final payment on a carpet cleaner I bought months ago

i think what happened is when i shop for groceries online they don't include the tip in the total and i think i logged them twice and couldn't find them on that particular statement for some reason. sometimes i make changes or log in stuff or forget to put stuff in and then well...we have a mess. so back in december i kept waiting for these outstanding charges of 106 and 107. they never showed. there's the 200 right there. along with some shoddy math and bam you got a mess.

You tip online?
When I can afford to. I try to tip the delivery people. Especially the grocery people.
My heart skipped a beat when he went through that little opening. How can anyone do this?
First take a short piece of 2 by 4, then knock yourself as hard as you can on the head. While doing this keep asking yourself if jumping off a cliff in baggy clothes is a good idea. When the answer is 'Yes!', Then you are as smart as any guy, and entitled to go for it.

Yeah, I adjust the tips. They always start them out so dang high. I wait until my order goes through entirely (as in delivered and everything) and get the total after that. It usually has the tips in there at that point.

Oh my god things you see when you walk the dogs. Firstly most houses here don't have net curtains they have a few plants or ornaments on the window sills but basically you can see straight into the house. So tonight we were walking the dogs when Murphy stopped to pee on a lamppost ....I turned around and could see OH mouth wide open staring into someone's house. I called his name and said 'stop that it's rude' at which point he raised his flashlight and pointed it in towards the windows saying well you should see what this guy is up to. I said ...what? And he replied he's is having a wank, you know ...a five finger shuffle, knocking one out , a j Arthur right there in front of the telly...
No I didn't go and check it out, I tried to explain to my husband that what a person does in their living room is their own business but he insists if you're doing it with all the lights on and the curtains open it's everyone's business!
I have never stopped going to the market but I do have to say that I am extremely cautious.
Same here. I'm the "designated shopper" for the household. Groceries bought locally in person, and as much as possible done online. I actually found that online shopping was a good thing for us before the pandemic - taking special needs kids into stores tends to bring on sensory overload.
Now I just need to learn not to shop impulsively, even online...

Hmm... I think I'm going to label this "their own business" but still say "What in the world?!" to not finding a way to be more private...
