We dropped our dog off at the vet last night. Her urine has blood in it. She will have blood and urine tests, before ultrasound, to try and determine why the infection won't clear.

Her bed looks so empty.
Shall I be stupid and say try not to worry? Of course you are worried.
But it could be a very stubborn bladder infection or crystals in the urnine, Benny had that a couple of times and it was easily sorted.. In any case I will be thinking of you and her,, sending hugs...

She's back, and we just have to wait for a decision on which anti biotic to use. That will take 3-5 days.
She looks better, she is on anti inflammatorys, and painkillers, with a guesstimate anti biotic as they suspect she may have multi bacterial infections.

Glad she is doing better Cherry and I hope she gets over it completely very quickly.

There is too much violence everywhere on tv and the movies and i think that is one reason I have cut back watching significantly. I am just tired of it. (Not to be lumped in with sci-fi and horror lol)
But I also don't like violent scenes on people that involve eyes and teeth for some reason lol or bones breaking in unnatural positions, ughhh!
Years ago, a friend and I went to a movie theater to see Braveheart. The volume was so loud. To this day, the memory of the all-too-realistic sound effects of the maces horrify me.

One time our dog was having recurrent UTIs (happened 3 times in a few months time).. the last time they gave a much stronger antibiotic that seemed to finally do the trick. It was pretty terrible, but the treatments did provide relief quickly it seemed... it just sucked when it would return a couple weeks later, and usually it's at night when only the emergency vets are open.

I don't grudge the dog a penny, but surprised to pay almost £60 for the antibiotics.
The infections have been caused by a mass near her vagina. He doesn't know if it is malignant or not, but it is probably growing, and sooner or later will block her urethra.
Surgery is inadvisable, and she is too 'action dog' for us to consider chemo or radium.
There is no indication of speed, but she has already outlived her allotted span, and still looks and acts 'full of it'. We are hoping for months.
Our dog had a growth near her area as well.. but it actually grew so large it just dangled down without blocking anything, but it did pull on things to leave it more open and easier for infections to get in. She was also too old to have it removed... but she had it for years. We had to clean it with special wipes daily.

Dreadful news for you. But for her nothing has changed, she lives in the now, enjoying today. She doesnt fear tomorrow the what ifs or the maybe. Try to live life like her enjoy the moment and try not to live in that future fear. Celebrate and cherish her make memories with her now.
