Amazing. I suppose that dogs and cats can co-exist! Wonderful video.
They sure can! When I was a kid, I had a dog and a cat. We used to take walks down the street with both of them (our cat would always follow along with us), they liked being together, even if sometimes our cat would claw at him, but they loved each other anyway. When our dog passed away, our cat cried for weeks on end.. howling every night. She missed him as much as us...

My son has a cat and when he moved back in with us for a a few months between houses his cat came with him. We had a huge dog called Max who loved everyone and everything and he and the cat got on fine. Max would walk past the chair waving his tail and the cat would 'catch' the tail..They would play the game for hours every day until my son and his cat moved out.
Years later my son decided to emigrate, Max had passed away some months before but we agreed to look after the cat until she could travel.. She came into our house and went running from room to room making a little yapping call.. She did this for hours and went all over the house eventually she came back with a tiny tuft of his hair (dont know where she found it) she dropped it in front of us and then rubbed her face on it making estatic purring noises...

Today my friend Kelly said that one of our neighbors (that we don't really like) called the police on her this morning because she had 2 vicious dogs and they were barking. I heard the dogs and the barking lasted less than 5 minutes. I love her dogs and they love me. "Vicious"? No. Kacey has a song and one of my fav lines is "Keep your 2 cents on your side of the fence. Girl, we ain't friends, we're just neighbors." That would seem to apply here.
It is true that there are some people that dogs don't like, I try to be sympathetic towards them. They are nervous of the dogs and dogs are very scary if you are scared of them.
If my dog turned on me she would kick my ass quite effortlessly, and I know it.
She, fortunately, believes the opposite.

Im not often stumped but. Since the new year fireworks (which have only just stopped going off at random times) Remy has been shell shocked.
He is brain damaged and has always been skittish and easily scared but it seems the fireworks have had a cumulative effect over the years and I think this year has tipped him over the edge.
He is becoming agoraphbic. Sometimes OH cant even get him out the door to walk and we have to drag him down the street, once he reaches the park and realises he is now headed for home he pulls, he crouches, he scuttles along as if he is about to be beaten to within an inch of his life.
Yesterday I took him to the common weve gone there ever since Remy arrived at our house but this time as we reached the turn that indicated the way back he shot off.. No amount of calling of whistking would get him to stop and I only managed to catch him by taking a short cut we dotn normally use and heading him off just before he got to the car park..I dont know what he would have done if he had got back to the car and I wasnt there.. The roads surrounding the common are 50mph roads with 4lanes of traffic..
So Im askng has anyone ever had a frightend dog what did you do and did it work... Any tips welcome...
My dogs get shaky and scared whenever I am using the oven or stove, mostly because it causes our fire alarm to go off, so now they are afraid even when it does not go off. They are also afraid of thunderstorms and become inconsolable! I just give them one of the chews (amount is based on weight), and in about 15 minutes they are much more relaxed and don't seem to notice what was scaring them anymore. It works on both my dogs, and it works on my boyfriend's mom's dog.
Hopefully something like that can help with your dog, too. I have seen other calming treats, but this was the only one I have used. Even if you don't get the one I suggested, then you can still try another brand with something similar. It's worth a try.
The only other thing I have heard about is the Thundershirt. I have never tried one, and I have no idea if it actually works, but I have thought of trying it on my dogs before. Might be something to look into as well.
In the past ..(this has now gone on for 9 years) we have tried various calming tablets containing natural calming agents such as Zylkene ( had no effect ) and a brand called Sanal which contains L'tryptophan to calm..(this works to keep the worst at bay) A thundershirt which makes Remy keel over..Its as if he just gently goes into a faint when you put it on him.. Hes the same in a rain coat or harness, basically anything that wraps round his body causes him to shut down, fine for indoors but not helpful for walking.
The funny thing is he isnt afraid of noise perse, OH does DIY and Remy is fine while there is drilling or hammering going on, he was so nosy when the kitchen was ripped out he had to be locked in another room to avoid getting trodden on!
I dont know the answer but he cant go on being afraid all the time.. I think for the time being I will give him half a calming tablet and see if that helps him to accept that no one is going to hurt him or scare him and I will keep searching for answers.. Oh I did check with the vet but they say physically he is 100%..

Dog threads, one of my fave's. i have 3 doggys so yeah im a dog person, hence my old username 'Mad dog lady'.. the nickname my dad gave me after my 2nd dog.. They have caused me a spot of bother, but i love them the caused alot of friction between us and old neighbours. you see when a dog moves into a new house, they dont like it, obviously, well my new neighbours wasnt very sympathetic, i had a appointment with my midwife and ofc cant take 3 dogs with us, when i got home the lady who lived behind us came banging on my door shouting and carrying on that my dogs havent shut up once, well thats bull because they werent barking when we got home. they were once playing in the garden when the lady next door (the other ladies sister) came out shouting and swearing that i am a cruel owner for letting them FIGHT!!! im cruel for letting them in the garden and they bark because they arent happy.. i didnt know i had a cesar milan living next door, she then stood and videod them barking and said she is going to report us to the RSPCA.. still waiting, but we have moved now and guess what my new neighbours said the old ones must have been bull sh*tters because the only time they have heard my dogs was the first night i moved in when the house was still pretty empty and echoed...
ill have some funny storis and probably lots of piccies to share tomorrow
When life hands you lemons, make grape juice then sit back and watch as the world wonders how you did it.
Cleaning and scrubbing can wait ‘til tomorrow For babies grow up we've learnt to our sorrow, So quiet down cobwebs Dust go to sleep I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep
